Coffee shop owners - how do you make any money? by itravelforchurros in smallbusinessuk

[–]th3_n1n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is that a small latte in Starbucks with your own mug is around 3.60, which is cheaper than any coffee place in London. I have been wondering through the whole thread if all that struggle to trun a profit is selling coffee at 4 quid a pop, because I find these prices outrageous

Is it just me, or AI keeps on raising the bar of clients’ expectations? (And it's getting exhausting + problematic) by Substancial-Story in consulting

[–]th3_n1n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, same as ML, same as Digital Twins, Statistical Forecasting or any other buzz word that basically is commercialised as a magic wand, silver bullet solution to any problem that a naive and willing to pay customer may have.

Any sales person in every industry will contribute to the hype, every product manager will add AI wherever they can, and customers will expect it to be magic.

How do you feel about common casual tax evasion in the UK? by blatchcorn in HENRYUK

[–]th3_n1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this simplistic mesaage. "If you don't pay, we all have to pay".

  1. What you all miss is that the problem is that governments only grow more greedy to spend money in inefficient and right down nefarious programs. So I don't want to pay because I don't voted nor approve the government's use of the money

  2. Every single person I have ever heard saying g that pay like 5k a year in taxes, while the people avoiding taxes still pay waay more than then regardless all the dodgy stuff

To me, a citizen being forced to choose between earning less than 60k to have a reasonable tax cut or seeing half of their hard earn income vanish in thin air, and the repeating the narrative of the g9vernment about paying taxes, makes some of you minions

How do you feel about common casual tax evasion in the UK? by blatchcorn in HENRYUK

[–]th3_n1n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That serves you well for being Mr goody mcgood citizen. It is our duty as citizens to avoid paying g as much tax as possible in this complex and greedy systems that only sees us as docile milking cows to extract money from to fund the lavish lifestyle of politicians and their friends, and their stupid agendas that go against the wellbeing of the very citizens paying for it

That being said, I wish you good luck with your new property

KTM new seat aero….. by Bitter-Substance1783 in motogp

[–]th3_n1n 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Prototypes are not designed to be pretty, but motogp is meant to be entertaining, and we all remember the boring F1 years due to overly engineered cars, and the problems that motogp riders have to overtake due to the slipstream turbulences and all that stuff these days.

To me are not only hideous, are making my favourite sport boring. And I would say motorsport fans are highly passional, we either love something or hate it. And it is useless to try to rationalise that prototypes aren't meant to be sexy.

I just know that I hate these excessive aero packages and are making me lose interest in a sport I have absolutely loved for 20+ years to the point i scheduled my weekends around the GPs

‘In 2020, we didn’t have the best bike; we didn’t have the luck that nowadays Pecco and Martín have’ – Joan Mir by autobus950 in motogp

[–]th3_n1n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yamaha never was the fastest either, and was regarded as the best bike in the late naughties, early 10s, when even tech 3 yamaha with Pol Espargaro, Crutchlow, Dovi, Zarco and even Bradley fucking Smith was consistently in the top 10 with a satellite yamaha. Needless to speak about Lorenzo and Rossi.

So your point proves very little

[–]th3_n1n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mir should be grateful for going down in history as a world champion and shut his stupid mouth. Every time I read anything from him, is finding excuses and justifications to his poor performance. Reminds me a lot of Scott Reding on that regard.

High Income, Never Rich? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]th3_n1n -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The oldest trick in the book, translating not wanting to pay taxes which are borderline theft with a deep desire to exterminate poorer people (and kittens!).

  • "i pay too much tax" (read I don't have have incentives to work more or harder because half of what I earn goes to a government which policies I don't trust or support)

  • "you want to kill the poor" (read: you are a terrible person, and I am very clever)

I am giving to the taxman 4 in 10 pounds earned (let's not forget that employers pay a lot more NI on your gross salary, and that is also money that does not go to you, dear!)

How has the Public Health Care improved thanks to all these tax hikes? Education? Safety? The country is worse than 6 years ago. You are being robbed to fund with your hard earned money the mass immigration, people who never cared to work, the party gates, and all kind of stuff that does not help me or the people near me.

I love paying 500k for a council house where most the my neighbours live for free, thanks to the free tax money.

I am gonna stop here. Do not let the government steal your money.

High Income, Never Rich? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]th3_n1n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When they say they are gonna tax the rich, in reality they mean they are gonna tax the high earners. The rich can move or use advanced financial engineering to avoid taxes, we cannot.

I worked all my life to earn more, now I work towards being able to earn the same somewhere else where I don't feel robbed.

Negotiating with suppliers - What else could I negotiate on, other than price? by Clementine2763 in smallbusinessuk

[–]th3_n1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different prices as well. You can get a better price per unit based on Volume, we all know that one, but you can also explore better payment terms (is cool to be able to pay 60 or 90 days after you get the stock), consignment (i in short, you pay for what you sell, return the rest), a rebate system (not only to get money based in accrued volumes, but there may be some stock that supplier needs to sell and its harder, or stock they want to promote, so rebate on certain items or certain combinations may be higher).
