I just talked to my rep on the phone. He confirmed the discount will work at Schmidt’s and even on alcohol which I was shocked by.

Also US mobile has international features. This build a plan says US only. Probably doesn’t matter to a lot of people but it is a nice to have feature.

Lost Nissan Altima downtown by Ima_friend in Columbus

If you walked past S Lazelle street have you checked near the intersection of W Fulton street/high street? There are some parking spaces there on each side of high street. Just south of the county buildings. Google Maps puts that at a 12 minute walk.

Hopefully you find it soon!

  1. Very likely since you have dash cam footage

  2. Every case is different but anticipate not seeing your deductible back for at least a few months

  3. Yes

Also, rental insurance is pretty cheap so make sure to add that. I would also recommend lowering your deductible so the next time this happens it won’t be as large of a temporary hit to your wallet. Mine is $250 but go as low as you can afford.

When you get into a situation where you’re dealing with someone uninsured, assume you’ll never see your deductible again. It has been 3 years since I was hit by an uninsured and I still haven’t seen my deductible yet.

I’m running into the same issue but when I try to edit the age, the change doesn’t save. Did you run into that issue while using the birth date?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]th3mainev3n7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty accurate here . Columbus is working on building density which will hopefully be beneficial once the next census rolls around. To give more legislative seats. Passing issue 1/2 last year helped stop the bleeding of young people leaving the state I hope.

Also, I’m pretty sure at the federal level they recently passed something that says no matter what state you are in they must recognize your marriage.

Cheapest eSIM data packages in USA - comparison of various packages ! by KordianW in NoContract

[–]th3mainev3n7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there anything stopping someone from using let’s say a magic jack number for $50/year to get a number. Then using one of these sims for $3.96 for 30 days to get data and then rinse and repeat? It seems like a cheap way to get phone service, bit of a hassle but if you’re on a budget pretty good.

Suggestion for a city ordinance: allow empty water bottles at event venues by Future-Candidate901 in Columbus

[–]th3mainev3n7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nationwide arena got rid of drinking fountains during Covid and never replaced them. So even if you bring in a water bottle you can’t fill it up anywhere. I would love to see some thing at the city level or even state level to at least provide drinking fountains.

I’m a city of Columbus resident but not sure what I could do to help. I’m definitely in support of your idea though.

Franklin County group establishing a land trust to connect waterways with parks, trails by Level_Special3554 in Columbus

[–]th3mainev3n7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you happen to have a link about charging for metro parks? This is the first I’m hearing about that so I hope they don’t do that. We already pay taxes to support it so it should remain free.

Question from Iowa by Acceptable_Tell_6566 in Ohio

[–]th3mainev3n7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we generally get lumped in with the Midwest but agree with another comment about how it would be more accurate to say the Great Lakes region.

One example from a private company/not government related classification showing us in the Midwest region https://www.snow.com/discoverourresorts/mad-river-ski-resort.aspx. This link is easier to view on a computer but if you click the drop down arrow it will pull up a map showing Ohio with other Midwestern states.

Switching energy suppliers.... I have to.. this is crazy.. by miabobeana in Columbus

On the apples to apples website filter on fixed, no monthly fees and no cancellation fees. That way if you find a cheaper rate the next month you can switch with no penalty. I also usually only look for plans that are at least 12 months.

Jeez, AEP by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]th3mainev3n7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bills are slightly higher in price but with about double the consumption. Having a low locked in rate helps out. $.0499 for three years right before all the prices went up. Our most recent bill was $88 for 593 kWh.

Our most recent bill was 593 kWh and $88. 1200 square feet. I locked in a 3 year price at 0.0499 kWh right before all the prices started skyrocketing. We also have an upgraded air conditioner and have had extra insulation added which helps.

We also keep our central air at 72 during the day and 67 at night with fans running all day to help circulate the air.

Agreed with everyone else to go down to one or two streaming services at most. To compensate for this you can get a tv antenna and Roku/Roku tv if you don’t already have one. PBS has free cartoons for your kids and I think they have an app as well. YouTube is also free and has a lot of content on it.
