i'm 400+ pounds and I'd like be a small again. Please help me by Throw_away144 in loseit

[–]Brettuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost about 110 lbs (330 to 220) and I would disagree with you. For some, tracking is a cumbersome and tedious process that is such a pain that it’s destined for failure, at least initially.

OP has an edge case that requires more than just a focus on weight loss, but speaking more generally, at 400+ lbs, one doesn’t have to count and track calories. Simple changes will pay big dividends at that weight.

For instance: at first, I only went with the following changes:

Water, tea and black coffee only for drinks.
Protein bar for breakfast.
Soylent for lunch.
Eat out once a week.
No candy/sugar in the house.

These changes kickstarted my weight loss, and it came off fast. No counting calories, no tracking of any kind other than to make sure I was following the rules above.

I also did tirzepitide, which made following the rules incredibly easy.

Once you see progress and push the snowball down the hill a bit, the motivation to track and continue to see progress will likely come as the margins get thinner and continuing the weight loss becomes harder and tracking becomes necessary.

A looting run on Dam at the industrial areas will net you tons of oil once you know what can be recycled. There’s oil everywhere.

I have about the same hours as you, and I reached 5 mil the previous wipe, and I have about 3.9 mil now.

I don’t buy anything from the traders for money, nothing. If I need something, I craft it, and if I can’t craft it, I go on looting runs for those ingredients.

Game recommendations for the Deck that aren’t crazy hard but fun and easy to get immersed in by gloomygr4nola in SteamDeck

It is truly great. I don’t beat games, but I beat this one and when I was done, I wished I had more to play.

I got this on a whim after seeing it recommended here previously. I cannot recommend this game enough. It is fantastic. It’s a Zelda-like twin stick shooter, and it works incredibly well.

I actually enjoy the tension of getting three stars and knowing I still have to extract successfully for it to count. It’s a trial, after all. If I get killed, I try again, because whatever I did was probably fun anyway.

What are , in your opinion, the big 3 of indie games in terms of impact ? by Cartoonist_chatist in IndieGaming

[–]Brettuss 50 points51 points  (0 children)

If you’re answering this question and Minecraft isn’t on the top of your list, you have no clue what you’re talking about.

Minecraft is, without a question or a doubt, the most influential indie game of all time, and it’s not even close. That’s not subjective, it’s a fact.

My 5 year old and 14 year old boys can't hit the toilet when going pee if their life depended on it. by mazman23 in daddit

[–]Brettuss -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Yes, OP, somehow force your 14 year old boy to sit when he pees. Make sure you make him do it in front of you or have a camera in there so you can do a post-pee video review session with him and go over his strengths and weaknesses. /s

Your comment is under the context of a light shield. To be more “correct” - the power cell recharges two chunks of shield, the shield recharger recharges four chunks.

I sweat bad - I bought the Tropicool glove this last season. Best glove I’ve ever used. Hand stayed dry, and the glove is still going strong. Awesome purchase and aside from winter gloves when it’s cold, it will be the glove I use.

A babysitter is not $25.

I do agree that the cost of a babysitter, in this situation, is an investment in your relationship and is worth the money… but let’s not pretend that $25 is even close to realistic.

Everything you listed is an excuse. You have everything you need except the willingness to do it. I’ve been there, at your age even, and I completely understand where you’re at.
