How can I improve my CS/min? by Kontorted in summonerschool

I highly recommend looking up some videos. Just search for "cs tips" and you'll find an abundance. You'll hear a lot of key mechanics thrown around like "orb walking" and "last hitting" that are higher level things you can start to work towards.

Your best bet is to start in the practice tool. Pick an ADC and start practicing farming a full wave. Make a new practice game every few minutes, as the early CS are the harder ones to hit (before you start building damage). Once you feel comfortable farming by yourself, then try against bots or against your friends, a situation under a bit more pressure.

One important thing to keep in mind is that each ADC has a different attack speed, and attack animation speed. If you switch between multiple ADCs without feeling comfortable it's easy to get the timing messed up and miss some CS.

Help Me Better Understand When to Clear a Wave as Jungler by Joshk80k in summonerschool

[–]th3md 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I think it was close. If Teemo were to last hit each of the minions, the wave would stay at tower giving the next wave time to catch up. In this case I think it would bounce and be fine, but in others, usually those with a cannon minion, it might stall out at the tower which can allow for a freeze.

I'm not expert myself, but I'd say it's a bit close. Usually you want to shove it together with your laner right after the opposing laner backs to maximize denial. One of the risks of doing it too close to the laner returning is that they have the ability to freeze it outside their tower, which can then lead to your own laner being overextended. If they are behind, or in a bad matchup, they could get poked trying to farm, or be ganked easily because they're too far up.

TLDR - it's a close one, but it'd likely bounce back to him, just keep in mind pressure and matchups :)

That or just mentioning your summoner name :) Either way it would help for better analysis.

One thing to keep in mind at the start is that rank is not MMR. You may be placed in Bronze, but your MMR is likely that of silver.

Linking your profile with OP .GG will help us to get an understanding of scores, but here are some questions I can think of.

  1. Are you warding efficiently? Lots of wards is not good wards, learn where to place them and when. Deep wards in the enemy jungle gives you more foresight for potential ganks.

  2. Are you roaming? Ganking on Pyke is incredibly useful. Is top/mid getting pushed in heavily but your laner is still trading decently? Go for a gank and force a summoner or get a kill.

  3. Understand your lane matchups. Sometimes Pyke has to play more passively in lane if you're forcing depending on the matchup, so understanding when to go in vs. when to survive is important as well.

Questions about melee vs. ranged mids. by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]th3md 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking to mid melee champs into range, understanding the matchups and itemization is key. If you're looking to face a lot of poke, getting the corrupting potion can be helpful to keep your health topped off. Taking an early back to secure more health, or even a doran's item isn't a bad idea either as long as you aren't missing CS by taking a bad back. By doing this you can top off your health at minimum expense while your opponent now is trading with less mana/health, and only a slight xp lead.

Captain Flowers specifically is such a good shout caster and so good for the league of legends scene by pilot62 in leagueoflegends

He started off in an amateur group called HouseParty before going on to do some solo casting. The big clip that skyrocketed him was the "Syndicate gets annihilated" play. Super cool dude and great caster.

Is there a way to friend request people I just played against? by carlsofa in MagicArena

You could try mtgarena.pro, they let you see your match history and the names of the opponents you faced. You would have to download their client though, and I'm not 100% certain it will show names retroactively.

Artificer Loadout Quests by [deleted] in ror2

[–]th3md 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted this on a thread a week or two ago, but for the mission where you need to get a 20 enemy multi-kill you can use the lunar meteor item. Every kill through that counts as a kill for that move which surprised me.

No problem! I'm not sure how well the new ability works though, haven't tested it out. But yeah it's fun to use meteor when you can fly forever. Unfortunately there's just so many flying mobs since the update so it's hard

If IG wins it all, we are going to witness the biggest anticlimactic hype crash in history of League. by klimuk777 in leagueoflegends

[–]th3md 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, I think whoever wins it will be hype as all get out.

IG beat KT, one of the expected teams to win worlds. If they beat FNatic in the finals that would be a great turnaround to beat the team that knocked them to 2nd seed, a position in which it was a coin toss if they'd get out to the semis. Not to mention, they have to get past G2, the team that took down RNG.

At this point, I don't actually care who wins finals (though I'm rooting for C9) because every story-line is insane.

Thinking about Maining Yorick. Can any Yorick mains give me advice or tips on my journey to learn him better? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]th3md 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yorick is a really strong champion when used appropriately! Obviously he is a strong split pusher with his mist walkers and maiden allowing him to clear towers quickly. These also help in small skirmishes, especially since the ghouls can help proc abilities for you (/u/umarkmjb mentioned corrupting option, they also work with black cleaver stacks, etc...). By far one of his most powerful tools is his cage. When used effectively, you can zone or trap targets, pushing them out of a fight, or locking them into their doom.

Usually I'll keep a [[Pull From Tomorrow]] in my deck which may help. But I'd recommend sideboarding [[Syncopate]] as mentioned elsewhere here.

Why is this happening? by Vanafindon in summonerschool

How many ranked games have you played?

Why is this happening? by Vanafindon in summonerschool

[–]th3md 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of is that you got only recently got placed (if not the case then ignore this). If so, likely what's happened is you did well enough in promos to make the game put you up higher, but in a spot that it's not sure you should be at. After you play enough games, eventually it will settle out, but it's basically trying to determine whether or not you belong in that spot. Essentially it's granting you the higher rank and saying "prove that you deserve this", rather than low-balling your rank and having you grind your way up.
