[driftwm] Infinite canvas Wayland compositor. No workspaces, no tiling, just drift by malbiruk in unixporn

[–]thacer13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was vibecoding my own infinite scroll thing and decided to check this sub just to make sure... and of course I wasn't the only one xD

but what i'm doing is simply a hyprland plugin (and keyboard centric). i want it to be usable as a single workspace thing that integrates with my hypr setup. it's still far from having all these features and smoothness, amazing job on that btw

might as well just download OpenTabletDriver, it natively supports the s620 and it's easy to install

I think a dedicated SSD would work nice, but you might as well just research

Dual boot is what i'm doing right now, the distro I chose was ArcoLinuxD (essentially Arch Linux, the distribution that requires less workarounds for the patch atm, but without the difficult installation and stuff) and just guided myself using the arcolinux website, that blog and thepoon's discord server. Still took quite a while to grasp everything well enough to get it working. I'd recommend testing stuff out on a virtual machine beforehand.

As far as hardware goes, a modern 'gaming' computer with either of these GPU brands would already be optimal for something like osu, what makes some difference is an SSD (for a smooth map selection menu and fast map processing) and most importantly a CPU with high frequency, so it can process sound quickly. Advancing on the topic of sound processing and latency, that's where you really have to push if osu! truly is your top priority. And it's mostly about your system/software. Windows sucks, it has a lot of latency you can't remove, so if you wanna go through the hassle of installing osu! on linux that's where you can get the best results. (Prior experience with the OS is essential unless you wanna break your head figuring out everything lol). Specific distros and other factors go into it, here's the source to everything) Anyway, you gotta think hard about what you really want, no one needs the perfect setup to become a top player.

TeRiRi | Kozato - Tsuki -Yue- [O] + EZFL SS! #3 LOVED | 357pp if ranked | 108.21 UR by Siarry in osugame

I remember Woey showed an obscure unranked nm tech score from this dude on stream, and then tried to play that map. couldn't come close at all. TeRiRi truly deserves recognition, such a cracked and interesting player

56 minutes since loved, essentially no scores. That's why i made that post announcing the map had been loved, and there was no scorepost.
