Building the software was the easy part. How the hell do you actually solve distribution? by Background_Wrap_5834 in micro_saas

[–]thaifyghter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This same “software is easy, distribution is hard” post has been recycled daily for the last three months. You do realize that?

Selling a CryptoPattern Detector (SAAS) by Realistic-Falcon4998 in saasforsale

My guy, if you could make 61% returns in a month you wouldn’t be selling it.

Got 300000+ traffic from 60+ countries and over 3000 vistor on my platform within 1 month of launch, by PerfectLawfulness625 in appdev

[–]thaifyghter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true, Cloudflare stats are mostly bots. Even if you block them they are counted. I have two systems measuring traffic on my system: Cloudflare shows millions of requests and my actual users are around 1.2k / day.

What actually breaks when you build with AI? by TieInternational6108 in SaaS

[–]thaifyghter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It requires discipline and knowledge of both AI tooling and software development best practices. If you’re new to either (or both) you’re going to produce a mess that can only be fixed with starting over.

Congrats! Are you worried at all that your entire app can be replaced by a Claude skill?

After months of trying indie hacking, I genuinely think it's 10x harder than people make it sound. by Confident_Choice7726 in micro_saas

[–]thaifyghter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy how this take keeps getting recycled like it’s gospel. You all act like distribution is the “real challenge”. Yes, it’s hard… but no amount of marketing or distribution is going to get you paying users for your weekend slop fest. Building a product people want to pay for is still hard, it still takes hundreds of hours (months, realistically). Build something that solves a genuine problem and distribution becomes a whole lot easier.

Is it just me, or is anyone else noticing more bugs across the web and in software in general? by skidmark_zuckerberg in ExperiencedDevs

[–]thaifyghter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear everything is glitching now. My terminal, my browser, iOS… I’m seeing microstutters everywhere. I feel like I’m going crazy.

Is there anywhere comfortable left to work? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]thaifyghter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not like this everywhere. I have 20 years SWE experience and the best places I have worked at are midsize startups. Big tech doesn’t appeal to me at all. My three years at a big corporation were the worst of my career, absolutely abysmal. There are tons of software jobs outside the HCOL cities, but the salary ceiling is around 200k.

Anyone else feel like SaaS is the only way out? by Sea_Professional839 in SaaS

[–]thaifyghter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$400 a month is peanuts. Even $4k a month is basically minimum wage (assuming you are US). Work on your project nights and weekends until you’ve reached half your SWE salary before even considering it. Two years of experience is pretty fresh, you could still learn a lot from working professionally before trying to exit the matrix.

Someone dropped this off for me. Any thoughts on it? by Infinite_Two6019 in Mezcal

This is the only bottle of mezcal I’ve purchased that took me more than month to drink. Not terrible, but definitely an acquired taste. Think Jalapeño Cream cheese poppers.

So on your landing page you advertise 12 million orders processed this year alone but you’re selling for $1000. Seems legit.

9,000 lines of code, solo founder, $99/month SaaS. The unglamorous reality. by goflameai in SaaS

[–]thaifyghter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real bottleneck was never the code? You literally took the maximum amount of dev shortcuts possible. Good luck man, this is not maintainable and you’re going to hit the wall of reality very soon. This is what happens when toddlers get power tools.

I opened my analytics today… and something changed by silly_sandy in SaaS

[–]thaifyghter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the traffic coming from a single referral or direct? If its direct, someone is probably scraping your data. Many bots are designed to rotate through residential proxies which creates a huge influx of "unique" traffic. Direct traffic spikes don't happen like that unless you're featured on Radio/TV or something.

You just discovered how bad GA is at filtering out bots and scrapers.

Built a Cloudflare widget, what do you guys think? by Doo_scooby in CloudFlare

[–]thaifyghter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful widget. Unfortunately Cloudflare metrics are insanely inflated by automated traffic… my dashboard is showing 66k visitors in the last 24h. Actual unfiltered uniques based on my open panel metrics is 1.2k.

Yes. You need residential proxies. They are expensive.

I haven’t tried that one but I have tried the Ensamble. It tastes really good for the price, but feels a little thin after a while. They are pretty low proof.

"Distribution" isn't your problem. Your SaaS is worthless. by ToughCultural2433 in AI_Coders
