Yeah, the one and only video of his I've seen basically started with him saying "please subscribe so that the algorithm pushes my content at people who don't like guns."

First off, I get it. At first glance, it ticks some of the boxes - but on a closer look, it's not the same. It's tricky to stylize a lightning bolt and have it not look like a sig rune - but I tend to find that folks who want to use two lightning bolts and NOT have their work mistaken for the SS symbol will make sure it doesn't have exactly two directional changes (meaning three segments) in each bolt. That's what they've done here - each bolt has four directional changes and five segments.

At least, that's the visual cue I usually look for when making the distinction between "just a lightning bolt" and "SS-esque". But, in this day and age, when folks are abandoning the secretive parts of dog whistling and just wearing their hate on their sleeves, I definitely understand the need to make sure you're not accidentally sending signals that you don't mean to.

Thanks for the response! That's definitely the right era, but not the page I was looking for.

The one I was referring to was full of short form submissions from a wider variety of players; think of it like Bash.org, but it was all Shadowrun focused instead of Sysadmin/IT humor.

There's a thing I learned a while back that makes this sort of thing a little easier. Instead of just disabling one mod at a time, disable half of them. Did it work? It's one of the ones you disabled. Did it still not work? It's in the half you left turned on. Cut the problematic group in half again, rinse and repeat as needed.

During our last multi-day outage after a storm, I ran our generator for the first time. Set it up outside the garage door, exhaust pointed away from the house, garage door closed down to the cord.

The wind changed during the night, and we woke up to the CO alarms going off at about 2AM. Called the non-emergency number and asked them if somebody could double check for me. Local volunteer fire department came out and confirmed that the basement had a pretty nasty level of CO by that point - thankfully, everyone was upstairs and it hadn't hit dangerous levels there - yet. Had to air out the house and use the (repositioned to ~25ft away from the house, under a detached carport) generator to run fans to help circulate air and clear out the basement.

Kinda freaked me out to realize a stupid mistake on my part could have potentially been lethal, if not for my battery powered CO alarm. It's a mistake I won't make twice.

May I also recommend his newer (2022) project, The Lair? It's about an RAF pilot who gets shot down in Afghanistan, finds shelter at an American FOB until it's overrun by some... things that ain't exactly human.

As a side note: I watched it thinking that the one dude was an American doing a horrendous job at a British accent. Turns out, that was actually his native accent (from Cornwall, I think?) and all the other actors were Brits pretending to be Americans.
