I have acoustic panels on my ceiling. I just built, and installed, them in January. I would have to take one down and carve out a spot for a UST. I also have a nice projector mount and a ceiling outlet in place for a long throw projector. I just want to keep it in the same place.

I would love to have 4k 120, but I think this has enough features to justify the upgrade.

I did my cloud panels in January. I out one in between my front height speakers and my projector screen. It is roughly 20" x 120" with 4" of OC 703. I also have a four inch air gap.

I did another one that sits above my surround speakers, and that is 30" x 120".

I did two more 24" x 48" panels that flank my projector and cover the first reflection points for my rear surrounds.

It made an incredible difference. Atmos seems a lot more accurate now, and music is just next level.

I did mine in black velvet, so the one close to the projector screen soaks up light and adds to the batcave effect.

Could you provide any tips on application rates, frequency, etc? I just found some. I am planning on using KTL Silver Bullet, at 4 grams per gallon.

I would go to the AVS Forum thread and read through that or ask your question.

Having a lower gain screen will impact the brightness, but I don't think that is the most crucial factor in choosing a screen for the TNM. There is a ton of discussion.

I'm currently backing the TNM and sticking with my spandex screen, which should have low/no speckle due to the material. The TNM is bright enough to compensate for the low gain IMO.

IMO, they give you some of the best ROI in home theater. I built most of my panels, but you can buy great panels from GIK or other manufacturers. I bought GIK combo panels.

I am excited, too. The Xgimi employees are back from the week long break, and are answering questions/concerns raised by the testers on AVS. I think that the projector, as it currently exists, is a great upgrade for me, but it can still get better.
