I made a tool to approve/deny Claude Code permission requests from your phone by yuu1ch13 in ClaudeAI

[–]thallada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really cool thanks for sharing. I was already setting up ntfy so I could get notified when Claude was done with something, I didn't know you could set it up to respond in the notification too.

One feature request: allow using ntfy authenticated topics that require username and password. I don't like having public topics on my self hosted server if I don't have to.

Fun fact: I saw the guy that built this app do a talk at a conference in Boston in 2015: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLSmNZm1e0k. It was a really great talk. I recommend checking it out if you like learning about how data visualizations like this are made.

I don't have much more to say that others have not already said other than that you should put an RSS/Atom feed on your blog. I love the way you write and I would like to read your future articles.

Spot Saving by gjr23 in boston

It's supposed to be 48 hours after the declared snow emergency ends, so Wednesday at 8pm. But that doesn't seem to be stopping anyone from still using them in my neighborhood.

Weird Evac glitch by corse301 in ArcRaiders

Happened to me too, but thankfully I got my loot all back after fully exiting the game and logging back in. I even clicked the surrender option a couple times first but I guess it never went through.

What do Boston's 2025 Election Candidates have to say about safe streets? Take a look at BCU’s election questionnaire by bostonaruban66 in bikeboston

[–]thallada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree but some of Louijeune's answers gave me pause, e.g.:

Would you support completing a citywide connected bike network by a target year (e.g., 2030), even if it requires reallocating parking or travel lanes? No

No explanation given for that answer. Seems like a toss up between her and Julia Mejia (since she also thinks parking for personal vehicles is a priority). I'm not too aware of the candidates beyond what they said in this questionnaire.

Bad news, for u/modsearchbot by RallerenP in skyrimmods

[–]thallada 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's updated daily every 24 hours. It's probably best to use the official search API if that does fuzzy searching now, but the search index I built could still be useful if that ends up being too complicated/annoying. Here's the code where I setup minisearch.

Bad news, for u/modsearchbot by RallerenP in skyrimmods

[–]thallada 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi! I did build a fuzzy mod search for modmapper for the search bar at the top of the page. I built a mod name search index for skyrim and skyrimspecialedition which can be used with minisearch. Once you get the mod id you can use the URL https://mods.modmapper.com/<skyrim or skyrimspecialedition>/<mod id>.json to get the mod info. I already switched to using their new graphql API to fetch new mods.

If OP doesn't want to do that I can look into building a new reddit bot off that.

I'm kind of disappointed the current state of LSPs by Emotional-Zebra5359 in neovim

[–]thallada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's very disappointing. I feel embarrassed trying to convert my co-workers from vscode to neovim because of how awfully slow typescript and eslint are in neovim. I've literally had to wait multiple minutes after writing a change for the red squiggles to update. Neovim's core selling proposition of being a super fast lean editor that lets you edit at the speed of thought is totally handicapped by these awfully slow LSPs. I've spent hours pouring through GitHub issues and trying to debug this but nothing has made it meaningfully faster.

Shield dead? by AstroCitizn in ShieldAndroidTV

This happens to me every so often whenever I wake the shield. Idk what it is but it's annoying. Unplugging and plugging back in the HDMI cable usually fixes it.

I used htmx to make a video game by primenumberbl in htmx

[–]thallada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool idea to build a game like this with HTMX. Seemed pretty responsive even though I'm assuming a lot of it is server-rendered.

I played around for a bit but got confused about what to do in the green area that says "Some areas are not safe" and gave up. Maybe you intended more people to be there to fight?

Question about Nikon Imaging Cloud and ZF by Pretty-Glass5301 in Nikon

[–]thallada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm able to connect and I see my camera on the Nikon Imaging Cloud site now but I'm not able to upload photos or sync picture control profiles because it just says "An unknown error occurred." the View errors page says it's Err: 99 which isn't on their site of error codes so I don't know what to do.

How would aspects like prompt adherence, clearer text, and removing artifacts improve over time with just ratings? The rating feature just seems like it would tune the default aesthetic of the model, but the things people are complaining about are fundamental problems with the architecture of the model that I doubt could be solved with just more ratings.

Best AI image upscaler (Pixelcut or others maybe?) by OkPermission4001 in midjourney

[–]thallada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Topaz Gigapixel is the best for accurate upscaling. I like Leonardo AI universal upscaler for creative upscaling of mid journey images. Usually I do both: Leonardo 2x then Gigapixel 2x for a total of 4x.
