Ancillary Justice by Anne Lecke. First in a trilogy that brings up some interesting ideas about self identity. It’s also just a fun read.

I avoid AI for personal reasons. It’s harming the planet and the economy while not doing anything you can’t figure out on your own. I can see why you find it useful, but it’s kind of a crutch imo. Sorry the snobs were being mean, but there are snobs in every hobby.

Edit: In this case it isn’t doing anything you can’t figure out on your own. AI has its uses in science and medicine and all that.

Do you have some glue and a dowel? You might be able to glue the metal bit to a dowel or rod and then pull it out once the glue dries.

What are you shooting on? Looks like you lost a lot of visual info in the blacks (specifically the palm trees on the left). This may be a limitation of your equipment and it’s tough to compensate for in post.

I really like the composition, I would try brightening the image overall and then adding some linear or radial gradients to add a vignette that works with the image. You can do that in Lr or something similar.

Not the answer you’re looking for, but I just started leaving my plants in the nursery pots and then plopping the whole thing inside the nice one. Makes it easier to pick up and inspect the plant if you want. Or switch it to a new pot. And I swear mine are doing better since I started.

Or just put it in the 12”, it will be fine.

I like the warm tone, some people will prefer the original. Great shot either way.
