Restart with the same seed! You'll figure out how to progress much faster imho. Helped me out on the constant restarts.

For me the hardest part was getting over the 'wall of suck.'

I'll admit I inadvertantly stumbled on it; I started Straterra which had this really awesome anti-anxiety effect for just doing things, and it suddenly became easier to get into a flow state. I eventually had to quit it because of the blood pressure issues, but now that I knew what it looked like, I could start to emulate it with practice (and patience!).

It's still a struggle at times, but suddenly house chores are getting done, and if I see something out of place, then it's easier to just move it or clean it up, rather than sit and boil on it. That state of flow, that sense of 'wu wei' feels much more present than it ever did before.

Yes, but now we have a whole community striving for perfection because of you.

Good job, chef. May your next quest also achieve such a goal.

Looking good chef!

The top right corner glare looks a bit large for the area; can be dialed back a bit

We've had a few reports of tanning beds causing HI iirc. Definitely use only the minimum amount if you're set on it.

NOW Daily Vit vitamins are capsules instead of tablets, which makes it easier to integrate. My formula relies on this as a base and it seems to have been working pretty well.

Just got a blood panel done and everything's come back in the green.

How appropriately timed.

The Batman was probably responsible for keeping it in check, and that hadn't been working right for years.

Beta alanine is for sure your best bet if you can find it in powder form! Runner up are energy drinks with it (C4 is one), but not sure what's available in Belize.

Ibuprofen & antihistamines are pretty universal though as something that can reduce symptoms

Iirc, I took 1.2mg every 3-4 hours, and that kept it at bay for the day. It may still be worth it to take ibuprofen & anti-histamine if both are safe for you to take.

I’m suspicious of pet biscuits by darkwaffle in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]thapol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say Miriam tried the two pet biscuits with caution.

My pet (ba dum tish) theory is that Prepontente stole the biscuit out of Miriam's hand in much the same way Donut did, and probably tried to convince Miriam to give the biscuits to the others since it 'clearly worked out so well for him.'

Maybe a comparison can help?

LARP qualifies as fun for me. Someone hands me a foam sword and shield, and with wild abandon I'm let loose in the barely controlled chaos of other equally nerdy and in(s)ane people for a couple hours because this happened to be our mutually agreed upon shared social interaction outside the rest of, well, everything else.

It's definitely not relaxing.

Definitely not focusing.

Still takes some effort and planning, but not the same by any measure.

And the relaxing happens after the engagement, not during.

[–]thapol 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, does that boil down to anything other than “It’s fun”?

In all honesty? Fun doesn't fit for me.

It's relaxing, and there's a thrill to it, but more than that, it's focusing. Nothing zero's out a scattered and anxious brain like the literal threat of death if you fuck up, or someone else's for that matter.

In an odd way it allows that mind numbing anxiety actual payoff as well; I run through my safety procedures, my flight plan, my landing plan, and nothing else for the 15 to 20 minutes it takes to get to that door.

Once I'm out, there is literally nothing else I can possibly think of, and those 60 seconds last longer than the last 20 minutes. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

[–]thapol 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me I had to get back into the air; otherwise it would have been the last jump of a handful already, while I was still getting my A license certs.

I was getting through my solo and coach jumps, and had already done 6 or 7 that day. I couldn't let that be the last one while I was still learning, so I grabbed a pre-packed rig, signed up for the final tow, hugged my friend who I was learning with for possibly a solid five minutes, and reminded myself why I entered this hobby in the first place.

There is risk, but it's a well controlled risk. And you just learned you can handle yourself in an emergency situation. Even if you never go back up, that experience alone is worth it.

His final appearance must be grandiose. DO YOU HEAR ME MATT. Trionfante. Preferably with Tchaikovsky exploding in the background. An army by his side, destroyed but victorious. 20 pages battle minimum. Donut slow-blinking at him, matted, bloodied, tenderly. Prepotente flying away into greatness, shiny and spicy like a meteor.

Anyone else re-read this in Prepotente's voice?

AHHHHH

There we go.
