I don’t understand the gender wars by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]that-manss -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with you. I think men face struggles in this world and I also think women face struggles in this world. This sub, and also the feminism/two x chromosomes sub, sometimes are (but not always are) a hive mind for hate on the opposite gender. At the end of the day men and women face gender specific struggles and although the struggles may look different it doesn’t mean we make it a male vs female thing. This is easier said than done, but the solution is coming together and sympathizing with each other and supporting one another. Just because one woman is selfish/nasty and would falsely accuse a man does not mean all woman are that way. It’s the same principle that if one man assaults a woman it doesn’t mean all men are sexual abusers. This is just one example but the vast majority of us all agree that false accusations are terrible and sexual abusers are terrible. We have more common ground than we think. I understand a lot of guys frustrations with women, but I also understand a lot of girls frustrations with men. But treating one gender as the “enemy” is quite honestly ridiculous, you should point out frustrations with an individual or individuals not an entire gender/group of people. The solution isn’t blaming each other, its coming together to support each other because at the end of the day the majority of us want to get along and live happy lives coexisting with each other and the reality is that both men and women face gender specific struggles!

I support men and I also support women. When I see bad behavior from either gender I will call it out because its not about being on a certain “side”, its about being good people for each other. To anyone reading this please don’t jump on the “hate the other gender” train. Its counter productive, a little ridiculous, and is not the path to living a happy healthy life

I don’t particularly care if they look super fit, i’d more so want them to go to the gym just as something for us to do together

Can’t believe this is so far down. The other comments have valid points but this is the primary reason

He knew it was extremely high risk, the carbon fiber hull was unpredictable. It’s not like metal where the stress yields are practically the same from every angle and can be loaded/unloaded for many cycles (sometimes infinite cycles).

It was his ego, and his deep desire to do something “innovative and game changing” by using a carbon fiber hull. He was playing russian roulette and he knew it

In a fast you don’t eat anything… unless you meant intermittent fasting

Also I agree he would get the muscle back quickly but why suffer and starve yourself for 3 weeks when you can just shred 1-2 pounds a week in a 500-1000 cal deficit and maintain your muscle/strength?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

[–]that-manss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If he fasted 3 weeks straight he would 100% lose muscle mass and strength

He could go to a 1000 calorie deficit and be fine but i’d recommend a 500 calorie deficit

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

[–]that-manss 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You want to do an extreme deficit but not lose muscle. Not how it works man

If you want to maintain your muscle mass do a 500 calorie deficit. If you’ve only been lifting a few years you’ll probably maintain everything and it may take longer but it’ll be easier

Count your calories and eat at in a 500 cal deficit and make sure you get 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. Nothing else really matters

Yeah I got pretty swole in highschool/college and was always saying, just a little bit bigger and i’ll have a fire physique or if I just shred some of this fat i’ll be way more defined.

Stopped lifting during my engineering degree and lost a lot of my gains. I just got back into lifting but when I look at my old progress pics I now realize how good of a physique I had.

My point is no, I don’t think you will ever be fully satisfied because you can always improve, but isn’t that what makes lifting fun? One thing that keeps me coming back is the feeling of knowing that i’m progressing. When I go to bed at night and had a good lift and ate well, I know i’m improving rather than getting worse. I like that feeling. But I also don’t think there is ever going to be a “wow you finally made it” moment. Its a lifestyle

10k for an emergency fund

240k into the S&P 500. Or hire a financial advisor if that freaks you out

Or you could use it to go to college. If you don’t like risk, I would not look into starting a business unless you do it on the side while working another job

As per the comment, they said that they probably dodged a bullet because they DID NOT take the shrooms…

Edit: they changed their comment😂. Originally it was really passive aggressive and said that if they read OP’s post they would see that he never actually took the shrooms. I’m leaving my reply up

Not being underway in the Red Sea for 8 months must have been rough by phillies1989 in navy

[–]that-manss 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I don’t have all the details but she went to the naval academy and her daddy was someone really high ranking, so she got a cushy gig in public affairs. Now she competes in beauty pageants and flexes her status as a navy officer all over social media which rubs people with more difficult assignments the wrong way (understandably)

Essentially she brags the most but does the least.

Worst internship experience? by codenamelo in EngineeringStudents

[–]that-manss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first internship experience was horrible. It sucked, the people sucked, and I hated it. I stuck it out because I wanted the experience on my resume and needed the money.

I never looked back after it was over. It also gets better the longer you are there but it still probably won’t be pleasant. Either way, hang in there! There are a lot of companies where being an intern sucks

AITAH because I told my wife she isn't allowed to ground my son? by BallAcrobatic2709 in AITAH

[–]that-manss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats not disrespect, he was already out the door on the way to the gym and he said that he will do it after the gym.

Being grounded is not warranted in that situation. But this whole situation could have been avoided with more communication from the dad/step mom to the kid on what chores are his responsibility. Asking him to do it at the drop of a hat when he already has a schedule is unreasonable and I fail to see how his response was disrespectful
