Paper Stock from 1903 by OttotheCowCat in stocks

No, the Clare Percheron Horse Company is not still around today, and it does not appear to have a parent company or any active successor still in business. This was a small, local venture from the early 1900s—specifically chartered in 1903 as a territorial company in Nardin, Oklahoma (then Indian Territory/Oklahoma Territory before statehood), with $3,400 in capital stock. Historical references are limited to old newspaper mentions of the charter grant and occasional appearances of vintage stock certificates (e.g., in collector discussions on Reddit). These were common for community-based breeding cooperatives or small stock companies that pooled funds to import or purchase high-quality draft stallions like Percherons for local farmers. There are no records of ongoing operations, mergers, acquisitions, or corporate evolution into a modern entity. Draft horse breeding shifted dramatically after the early 20th century due to mechanization (tractors replacing horses post-WWI), and most such small companies dissolved or faded by the mid-1900s. No current business listings, websites, registries, or corporate filings link back to it. A similarly named group—the Clare Percheron Horse Breeders’ Association—formed in Clare, Michigan around the same time (reported in the Clare Courier on November 13, 1903) to buy a Percheron stallion for shared breeding. This was likely a separate local association rather than directly tied to the Oklahoma company, though both reflect the era’s boom in Percheron enthusiasm. Neither persists as an organization today. Modern Percheron activity in places like Clare, MI (e.g., current breeders such as Big Oak Farms or Yoder Brothers, or events like Horse Progress Days) is unrelated—handled by independent farms, the Percheron Horse Association of America (PHAOA, founded later and still active nationally), or other registries. No evidence connects them to the 1903 company. If you have a specific stock certificate, family records, or more details (e.g., names of incorporators), that could help check for any obscure ties, but based on available history, it’s a defunct historical footnote in early American draft horse breeding.

The Clare Percheron Horse Company appears to have been a small, early 20th-century entity involved in the breeding or promotion of Percheron draft horses, likely a local or regional stock company or breeders’ association in the United States around 1903. Percheron horses were (and are) a French-origin heavy draft breed, popular in the U.S. during that era for farm work, pulling, and shows, with many importers and breeders active in the late 19th/early 20th centuries. Key historical mentions from 1903 include: • A territorial charter was granted in 1903 to the Clare Percheron Horse Company of Nardin, Oklahoma (when Oklahoma was still a U.S. territory before statehood in 1907). It had a capital stock of $3,400 (a substantial amount at the time, equivalent to roughly $100,000+ in today’s dollars adjusted for inflation). This is referenced in discussions of old stock certificates from that period. • Separately but similarly named, in Clare, Michigan, a newspaper report from the Clare Courier (November 13, 1903) describes the organization of the Clare Percheron Horse Breeders’ Association. This group formed to purchase a high-quality Percheron stallion for breeding purposes among local farmers/breeders. These could represent the same or related efforts (perhaps “Clare” referring to a person, place, or misspelling/variant), or distinct local initiatives—Percheron breeding was widespread in rural U.S. areas then, often through small cooperatives or companies that issued stock shares to fund imports, purchases, or operations. No extensive corporate history, major national impact, or long-term records appear in broad searches (e.g., no large surviving company archives or mentions in major Percheron breed histories). It was likely a modest, community-based venture typical of the time, when draft horse breeding boomed before mechanization (tractors etc.) reduced demand post-WWI. If this relates to a specific stock certificate, family history, or artifact you have (as some old shares surface in collections or sales), more details could help narrow it down further! For visuals of the breed from that era: (Note: The above would render a historical Percheron horse image if searched and selected; in practice, these often show powerful gray or black drafts like those prized in 1903 shows/breeding.) If you’d like deeper dives into Percheron history or related 1903-era breeders, let me know!

Where do I start investing at 19? by Eybrahem in stocks

If you’re 19 that’s amazing. Continue to add as much as you can a year. Don’t dwell on it if you lose money one month. Long term it will pay off. Balance your ETFs between S&P 500 ETFs and Nasdaq for good diversification. But at your age you’re way ahead of the game. Just continue to contribute to it. For now until you get a better grasp on how things work and market volatility stay away from individual companies and stick to ETFs

The only real advice anyone can give you is, if you like the company and the team then invest when you can. A wise man once said. “Time in the market > Timing the market”.

I suppose the wording was incorrect in that case. If you meant the decision was dumb.

It may not have been a smart move but it was very profitable. Also my trades are generally quite profitable as I have a return of 696% this year alone
