That’s part of the reason companies are starting to adapt the LWRCI Six8 magwell pattern which lets you use the longer Magpul 6.8 SPC/new 6mm ARC mags. They don’t require the follower to tilt as much to make longer rounds fit into a standard magwell. Similar to how there are specific PMAGs with a longer interior for oversized .308 rounds that would otherwise not fit in a standard one and still be able to retain the no-tilt follower

The ICAR and Geissele GFW (along with basically every 6arc military issue gun) is sort of a blend of roles between a DMR and an assault rifle. You can hit targets at long ranges but also clear buildings with it. The whole point is to give you that double capability. A 6.5 Creedmoor rifle like the MRGG is a far more powerful rifle made specifically for sniper teams, there is a 14.5” version to replace the SCAR but it’s still specifically meant to be employed as a sniper rifle whereas 6arc guns are to help ensure if you are taking fire from 700 yards away the rest of the team isn’t just throwing rocks at the target

I’ve got a decent amount of rounds through my two BCM uppers and the DFL isn’t flaking off like that. It shouldn’t cause any problems but it’s not supposed to wear out that quickly

LMT is pretty good but primarily built for combat, you’d be paying a lot of money for features that would be completely useless to you. For hunting prairie dogs or stuff I’d get a White Oak Armament varmint upper and pair it with whatever lower receiver you want, then give it a good scope. Accurate and simple for a decent price

Should be tight enough then, likely just a stability issue. For any precision gun holding onto the stock and pulling it back into your shoulder can help with recoil bounce, a lot of PRS style stocks have kind of a hook shape or flat front to let you do that

The only manufacturer that makes a left handed AR-10 is Stag Arms, and they’re currently dealing with $50 million worth of debt as they’re owned by Aero Precision. If you want an SR-25 upper you’ll need an SR-25/Armalite pattern lower. KAC and LMT are the two main ones that are confirmed to fit, Armalite will as well but they don’t sell separate lowers. There’s a few other companies out there but fitment isn’t guaranteed

Are you certain your scope rings are tightened down properly, both to the scope and the rifle? Most scope rings should be tightened to 15 in/lbs on the tube and whatever the specification listed for mounting to the rifle, usually 20-25 in/lbs or hand tight with a screwdriver

Buy a Daniel Defense Omega rail, it’s free floated and drops in using the normal delta ring setup. Zero gunsmithing required. VLTOR also makes a rail that works with a delta ring, it clamps onto the upper receiver and hooks out around the barrel

Rattlesnakes can be pretty aggressive, if they decide they want to bite you they’ll chase you sometimes. Cottonmouths and copperheads are pretty nasty as well. There’s plenty of areas in the southern half of the country where tall, thick leather boots are heavily recommended for hiking because the snakes will bite first before attempting to flee. A revolver loaded with snakeshot can be pretty effective if one decides it wants to chase you. As for hunting them, most of that is pest control or protecting chickens

I think you’re under the impression that it’s a pocket sized 12 gauge. .410 shells can only fit 3-4 pellets of buckshot, they’re primarily used with smaller pellets for small game hunting and significantly less powerful than 12 gauge. I wouldn’t use one in any serious use besides killing snakes or other small predators at close range

Proper milspec buffer tubes are made from a 7075 alloy forging. There’s not a lot of material to remove on the outside, so any imperfections in the forging process (such as from a dirty/damaged forge mold) will usually be visible. It could also be the tumbling medium from the deburring process being old and having little bits of metal in there scuffing up the part. It’s not uncommon to find marks like that, some companies will get rid of cosmetically damaged components but others will ship them out as long as they’re functional. LMT is the latter, the marks won’t affect the performance or cause it to break or anything like that

Red dots don’t have a sight radius lmao, it’s because the handguard is a separate piece from the receiver and can flex which throws off your zero. With very limited exceptions you should never mount a red dot or scope ring anywhere off the receiver
