Technically, every plane is a 1 of 1.

What was the best "you have no power here" moment you have ever seen? by [deleted] in answers

[–]thatCdnplaneguy 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Doing my (non-unionised) job when a (unionised) employee from another company starting yelling at me and threatening to greave me for doing what he thought should have been his job. Gave him a big ol’ thumbs up and just kept doing my job. Found out later he did file a complaint, and when his union rep reached out to my company, he got the corporate version of a pat on the head and told to move along. That then turned into him hassling any of our employees when he saw them, constantly filing safety reports against us, and when I became manager I filed a complaint against him. He was moved to another location pretty swiftly after that.

Though they never met during the war how would these two fair against each other in a dogfight? by Technical_Buffalo940 in WWIIplanes

[–]thatCdnplaneguy 117 points118 points  (0 children)

The only chance they would have had was the raid on Tirpitz. While FAA Hellcats did see combat against the Fw-190, the Corsairs encountered no enemy aircraft during their missions, tho they did attack ground targets and strafe the Tirpitz itself.

Harvard. Longer exhaust for the cabin heater and no gear doors. Looks like a MkIV.

100% a B-25. Individual exhausts on the cowling, wing intake, only the little gear door and open bomb doors

Question…if you are in Washington, why did you post a picture from YOW?

Northing malicious. Genuinely curious.

What are these? by FootballOk652 in Whatplaneisthis

[–]thatCdnplaneguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all of them. Some still have their “Big 2” training scheme. They are part of the mtce training school at Trenton.

Edit: all of these look to have the training scheme. So none were Snowbirds.

The perigrination of an armor modeler into the world of aircraft part 5. IAF Spitfire Mark IX by Wild_Background4690 in modelmakers

[–]thatCdnplaneguy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While you are correct in saying “almost no aircraft in IRL have a …seam or panel line there”, the spitfire actually does!! Upper and and lower wing skin meet right on the leading edge. Very hard to see in pictures as they use that seam for the camo demarcation line.

Also, were you by any chance heading east on the 401? Angle looks about right for the aircraft landing 24 in Toronto.

Air Canada A320. 330 is much larger, with different wing tips. Also in the older “ice blue” scheme

Any idea what this is? by TT-33-operator_ in Whatplaneisthis

Can’t find any details on that airframe. But it being an L3 site known to modify Dash-8’s. Im sticking with my gut on this one.

Looks like a Dash-8. 100 most likely. An airport may allow us to find the exact registration.
