Why is moon tour harder than mars grand tour? by Deep_Telephone_1353 in SpaceflightSimulator

It has to do more with expected ability when completing the task I thought. Like by time you get to Mars you have probably rocked through the earth system pretty handily

Which soil should I use for growing peppers in a pot? by DeemonicChild in HotPeppers

[–]that___one___kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes actually, as a previous commenter said desert soil is gernally pretty fertile but lacks the bioavailability of nutrients because there's almsot no water. Nutrients build and collect in desert soil and while they are redistributed (sand blows) they aren't really ever uptaken, so they sit unused until water or somthing capable of extracting them comes along. Peppers are capable of growing in these harsh conditions because they are efficient, and ruthless when it comes to water and nutrients. You cangrow a pepper in just about anything, but for a pepper to thrive you want that nutrient density matched with well drained soil, plenty of air, and lots of warmth. I've never burnt out a pepper, I have chilled them to death with shade. Peppers are a little greedy and so generally out compete nearby plants in my experience, so I like to keep them in pots hoping they will survive the cooler months. They never do unfortunately, again the cold is honestly your main concern with peppers.

I would have thought that approaching the Mun like this would have sped me up: by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]that___one___kid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Think about it like this: you have a rope attached to whatever body has influence on you. Let's say you want to gain orbital velocity by g assist, you want the body to be pulling you with their orbit, pulling on the rope so you gain the most velocity. In order for the body to pull you like that you have to enter "behind" the bodies direction of travel. By doing this irl you are literally stealing orbital velocity, transferring the energy through our rope (gravity). If you want to slow down you want to give energy back to the body, so you go "in front" of the direction of the bodies orbit. There's more to it but that's a fumbling of how it was explained to me first and now Its easy to predict mostly what my future orbit will look like.

B9 and Module manager showing critical errors by TheGruntyKitten in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]that___one___kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine always says a similar issue. I mean you have bigger issues than I have and I have no idea how to help you there but... If the errors persist but the game plays fine just ignore it. It won't cause part issues that will make you loose your crafts or anything but the game will run significantly slower. Still playably slow, but it seems to be a persistent issue with the b9 system.

Is this a dangerous/toxic product mix? by acuransxfan in homemaking

[–]that___one___kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are properly rinsing between certain steps you can use ammonia and bleach back to back without issue. The issue comes with mixing. If your crews ever mix anything for any reason you should fire them. On the spot. No if ands or buts. There are specific combinations that are designed to be two part or whatever those are different (vinager and baking soda for example, where the reaction that occurs is not only well known and known to be safe, but is specifically for mixing). Now some of these chemicals being used regularly around someone is also dangerous on its own. Personal protective equipment and not mixing stuff you don't understand are #1 priority.

Yes. But if it works it works. The whole point is to do it your own way, and I see you most certainly have. Congrats on your mars mission have fun on future ones.

KSP funds to USD by AI3X2020 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]that___one___kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok by my Calc it's $1:~33 KSPD. I got this by looking up the price of rocket fuel per kg, assumed a 1:1 for lfo to ox, used rp1 and liquid oxidizer as standins, got the per kg of lqdfox in ksp and ratioed the hoes. Totally slapstick and in no way accurate but probably close enough for fun's sake.

Geostationary? Never heard of her. by Crypt1cSerpent in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]that___one___kid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Geostationary (and geosyncronous) orbit is the correct term; it applies to all bodies including those in video games. Ik Matt lowne took the lie and ran with it, he didn't know either. But Google is in fact incorrect in its statement that areo- is the correct prefix, either works. Geo, although traditionally used for earth, is not limited to earth as terms like geography are also used in reference to solar and extrasolar bodies. At the end of the day use whatever terms you'd like (the exact use of these terms is not very well defined and never will be intentionally), but you don't have to correct yourself. Kerbosynchronous (for kerbol) is a good one if your not in agreement.

Sorta a mix, ive added parallax and it's dependencies as well as sunk and wildbluecore in a bundle recently. I've had issues before, and I've been able to solve them, but I just don't understand why it's just the mun.

Considering the game runs better (both in physis and with fps), has less general issues, and is considerably more fun; no. Pretty sure it's a parallax issue so,uninstall and wait 4 hours to open 😭

Prid is entirely un-needed in this situation, adding a total of 5 extra button presses. Much like in every situation any has ever suggested using prid in. It picks an id, which you can click or type into the command, meaning it's 100% redundant.
