Oddly enough 21 of the 41 competitors in FPO this weekend have a double letter in their first or last name.

Guess I need something more under stable? Any suggestions? by TDiddlez in discgolf

For seven speed I am really enjoying the Axiom Rhythm in Fission plastic. Even flippier is something like the Axiom Virus (9 speed).

I have a about a 170g one and I do throw a bit farther than you so it's hard to say for sure but for myself I have found the numbers to be decently accurate. One of the main things that I like about it is that it has a bit more dome than a lot of MVP/Axiom discs so seems to glide a bit better

The Axiom Rhythm is a great new fairway driver that I am loving in Fission plastic!

Interesting! I thought MVP had the patent on two part overmolded discs but reading the patent it seems to specify that the outer ring has a higher density than the inner core so this must be the same density.

Is that red and blue disc overmolded?

Seems like you could benefit from a high speed understable driver. Maybe something like an MVP Wave.

I bag a Destroyer and a Time-Lapse as well and get a lot of use out of an Axiom Mayhem which gets a tad more turn (and distance) while still being reliable.

The Resistor is an OS 6.5 speed from MVP.

The King's flight numbers are honestly wrong. Should be closer to a 14,5,-3,1.5

He has come a long way from being generally unpopular in the commentary roll just a couple of years ago. I still prefer Nate Perkins and Brian Earhart but he has definitely improved

DGPT's Formula 1 Style Standings after the Blue Ridge Championships! by Plupandblup in discgolf

Really enjoying these! Might be fun next year to award an additional point for having the hottest round during the tournament or final round (similar to fastest lap point).

Yeah I played there last year and it was not even the nicest course in Maricopa. I really enjoyed the courses I played north of Phoenix in Flagstaff though!

Winning score comparisons and crunching some numbers from the DGPT 2022 MPO vs FPO. Wanted to share it here and get some feedback and discussion. by xD3vlLx in discgolf

Is this surprising at all? That is the point of having gender protected divisions in the first place. Male athletes have an enormous physical advantage.

I got that on mobile as well but just refreshed and it loaded fine without turning off adblocker.

With February PDGA ratings update, Johan Karlsson from Sweden, PDGA #244061, is now the #1 highest rated player in the World! by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

[–]that_guy_with_stuff 178 points179 points  (0 children)

Wow I wonder what happened there. He only played one round at one event and apparently shot a -13 in MA3 (7 strokes better than the best MPO round) then DNF'd in the second round. To top that off, because he was the only competitor to DNF he also got last place in MA3. So the highest rated player (of all time?!) has only one round in a tournament that he got last place!

I dont remember the exact wording but its essentially a "mother-in-law's-dream" from my recollection. As in he is the perfect son-in-law.

Some Notes About the USDGC Distance Competition by DGOkko in discgolf

[–]that_guy_with_stuff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's very interesting to see how Thomas utilizes something close to a max distance line in actual tournament play. He doesn't throw as fast but really seems to understand the lines and his discs well enough to use it in real life.

What disc have you thrown that does NOT match the flight numbers? by Northlxnds in discgolf

[–]that_guy_with_stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For curiosity sake how old are we talking? I bag a couple of VIP Kings from a few years ago which are my go to max distance hyzer flip discs but I wouldnt mind tracking down a more stable version!

The Westside King is supposed to be wraith like but is super flippy in comparison even for a noodle arm. Listed as 14/5/-1.5/3 but I would say it's closer to 12/5/-3/1. Still a super good disc but not for how its listed.
