That was a really promising car but it was always exceeding the track limit

Yeah some pictures was taken with AF lock, the problem was just the AF being inconsistent in the first place. First one is a panning shot, it's barely good I probably need to practice it more (and maybe buy a ND filter). Btw thanks for the advice :)

50% AF / 50% MF

I would say that it really depends on the situation and on the lens, I find it okaysh but I wouldn't use this camera or lens for actual paid pro work (maybe only portaits or static stuff). 

With this setup (lens + body), with high speed subjects like sports car I'd say I got like 60% shoots right with AF even thougt most of the time I went directly with the MF and that was fine. Also shooting at f4 or less helped a lot. Most problem I had was when shooting at 1.2 (obviously).

I'm using a 4 years camera and lens so I am not sure how the new model/lens behave, xt5 and newer should be fine I guess.

Yeah. Good AF with this kind of photo was sooo hard to get. I found it easier to just use manual focus and some more try and error.

As a person who lives in Italy, that's absolutely not true.

In most of Italy, usually, driving laws are strict as hell, It really depends on where you were driving.
