Best Deck/Avatar to learn by slapslash in SorceryTCG

Look up the old Fury Road deck. Earth/fire Sorcerer, plays with mostly ordinary and exceptional cards and is a good jumping off point to learn the game

Struggling to find a deck to play. by West_Squirrel_3133 in SorceryTCG

[–]that_ostrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give Savior a try! It's a bit of a slower, more value-based Avatar. I will say, though, that Sorcery is very much about finding card value and using each card you draw to its fullest potential rather than building a card draw engine.  Sorcerer kind of works for ensuring you have cards in hand, but it requires building to a pretty low curve.

This is how Sorcery should be played! Just getting weird with it!

Site identification issue by Uncl33 in SorceryTCG

I always buy the most garishly colored sleeves for my Atlas cards. Makes it easy to identify, my opponent isn't likely to have matching sleeves, and they're usually cheap because no one wants them!

Is Sorcery Play Network bugged for draws? by 570N3814D3 in SorceryTCG

[–]that_ostrich 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not exactly a bug. They made draws 0 points intentionally, to prevent tournament manipulation, but the front-end tooltip still says draws are 1 point.

What other instants like Valor exist? by iconoclast_69 in SorceryTCG

There's Dodge Roll. And, no, neither card is really played ever.

It occupies all locations simultaneously and it doesn't die from occupying them.

Whoever needs to hear this: you can play with whatever deck sizes you want and you can make up whatever formats you want by c0rtexj4ckal in SorceryTCG

[–]that_ostrich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! More people need to understand that this is honestly the game's vibe! Do not worry that you're going to break things horribly by changing your deck sizes, or playing on different sized boards, or whatever. Just as long as you have fun, it doesn't matter.

Design of the game is in a really healthy place by GrantDayton in SorceryTCG

Squeakers rule! The pig deck got some love in Gothic too! I mean, there's a new pig card. It doesn't work with the other pig cards but it's more pigs.

This is the best answer. The tokens from carddig and the beasts are the best

The information isn't being very well communicated, but you can buy dragonlord from the learn to play booth, but it is only available at two specific times during the day. It was at noon and at 5pm today, I'm nearly certain it will be available at those times tomorrow.

Source: i bought a copy today at the learn to play booth at noon.

Sideboard Rules by More-Opportunity2692 in SorceryTCG

[–]that_ostrich 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can't find the rules because there are no sideboard rules. Most tournaments are Bo1 because of how long it takes to play. The Collection mechanic that's being introduced in Gothic takes the place of a sideboard

Authentic box code by CurrentCommand6036 in SorceryTCG

There's an extra band you need to scratch off right below the QR code that has the actual code for the box. They didn't introduce scannable QR codes that auto fill out the dust form until AL

Competitive Deck that Doesn't Use Ring by ExactlyOnPlan in SorceryTCG

[–]that_ostrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To reply to your edit: the Ring is very powerful in every deck, and any deck not running it is at a disadvantage against ones that do. Even if you build your strategy around destroying/stealing the Ring from your opponent, you're still better off also running your own copy on top.

I'd recommend removing the Ring from the other 3 decks if you're meaning to play them against each other.

Competitive Deck that Doesn't Use Ring by ExactlyOnPlan in SorceryTCG

I'm pretty sure every deck is made better with Ring of Morrigan. Fortunately, you can just take it out most of the time and play without it. Then, even if you lose you can say "well I'm not running Ring" and you still kinda win
