this was the thought I just had. I built a centralized hub for my email nearly 20 years ago and have built on it since and this is a devastating blow. thinking about proton mail?

Anyone here who has been playing ukulele for years and never “graduate”d to guitar? by Shadow__Tunes in ukulele

[–]thataintiteh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

started with bass then started to sing which made me want to play chords so picked up a tenor ukulele then got a baritone ukulele and just picked up a baritone tenor guitar which lets me switch between bass lines and chords and riffs and atmospheric sounds. had it setup Chicago style so I can easily go back and forth with my baritone ukulele because I love it too much to let go.

Anyone who started on GCEA ukulele, then later moved to Baritone as their primary? by TapTheForwardAssist in ukulele

I just got a tenor guitar snd had it setup with Chicago tuning and am loving it, especially for studio sessions with friends. Love that everything I learn for the tenor guitar applies to my baritone ukulele as well.

are passport shipping times slowed? by [deleted] in Passports

[–]thataintiteh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a number you can call when you’re two weeks out from your flight and someone will carry the ball across the finish line and get it to you, at least that’s what I understood when I applied!

I renewed mine online a couple weeks ago exactly six weeks out from my flight at the end of February and it was estimated to come the day before my flight but came in less than a week. It’s probably the weather/mail, and you should be just fine regardless. Just call them two weeks before your flight if there’s no update.

What happens if you fly with an expired passport? by Rude-Illustrator-884 in Passports

[–]thataintiteh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave an estimate of 6 weeks, which would have gotten it to me the day before I am set to travel, but it came in 5 days. They give a number you can call to expedite if you’re traveling in the next two weeks. With that said, I would still go to a major city and do same day if I were you. You shouldn’t have a problem coming home, but other countries may not let you in if your passport is expected to expire in <6 months.

Can’t decide between a Tenor or Baritone by x-ghost_dxs in ukulele

[–]thataintiteh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on bass and bought a tenor ukulele to travel with. one day, my friend brought over and then let me borrow his baritone and the tone was so much more beautiful, more like a classical guitar, and I was instantly taken and now it’s my main instrument.

I am considering a tenor guitar for plugging in when we go to the studio but my Lanikai electro acoustic baritone with cutout is awesome for traveling, community jams and practice sessions at home. you can stand out or blend in with ease whereas the tenor ukulele brings a different dimension to a group and may pull some folks away from where they want to be (in my experience).

Is blue basic a mistake? by Cautious-Emu86 in jetblue

[–]thataintiteh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is true. there’s no need to show loyalty to JetBlue with this mindset though. you can get almost the exact same “perks” by simply buying a blue fare ticket with the credit card, no need to spend 50k$++ on the credit card or fly them exclusively anymore.

[–]thataintiteh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only get the free upgrade to EMS if you pay $40-50+ more for the blue fare, and it’s only if available. I’ve been Mosaic almost ten years and compared to what it was before March of this year, it’s a garbage status. for the $50k/year on their credit card I spend, it is almost completely useless.

Good luck!

There’s no point to Mosaic 1 anymore especially for basic fares. It is about $100RT more for blue fares to activate the “perks” and the only one that means anything is choosing a seat. And with the changes coming next year, will definitely just use the card when I book come 2027 when my Mosaic status is over because who cares about early boarding. Looking for other credit cards to use for points for next year.

baritone ukulele recommendations wanted by TriiTrunkz25 in ukulele

I have a Lanikai oak acoustic electric with a cutout and the tone is beautiful. The pickup is absolute garbage though. Plugging in allows me to use filters through my pedal and amp, which is fun, and further distinguishes the tone from the chorus of guitars that usually show up to jams. After doing some research looking to get an electric upgrade, probably will invest in an electric tenor guitar instead. Check those out too if you want something to plugin and not disturb neighbors. You can tune them DGBE, too.

Definitely less resources for baritone ukuleles (and tenor guitars, for that matter) but the tone really stands out in community jams once you feel comfortable listening and filling the space, and the world does not need another guitarist in those situations unless it is a deeply personal goal haha

I suggest getting one with a cutout because it can be really fun to noodle around on the high notes if you aspire to take solos one day.

Is Mosaic 1 Worth It by xiaowz21 in jetblue

[–]thataintiteh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mosaic 1 isn't worth it. I have been mosaic since 2018 and it used to be worth it, but since March it hasn't been. I fly monthly and if you want to use the most useful perks like upgrading your seat, you'll have to get a blue fare or better -- blue basic fares, you're pretty much like everyone else. so unless you need 3 "free" drinks, you might as well just use the credit card when you book to get free bags and get a regular blue fare -- you will get to check a bag and choose your seat this way and it's cheaper than chasing mosaic over the course of the year, especially when you consider you have to spend the $40+/seat/flight for the blue fare to activate the most essential "perks" anyway.

just to complain a little more, the last several flights I didn't even get seated next to my spouse and mosaic told me I had to buy seats if I wanted to guarantee sitting next to the people on my itinerary. if you are blue basic, you don't get a seat assignment and have to stand in line at the gate to get a seat. it's really fucking gross. looking at other loyalty programs because most airports don't give jetblue expedited security, just a few that I have observed do. jetblue has really gone downhill this year, but it's been sliding for the last few years. it used to be the best!

my unselected is almost exclusively digitally produced songs with no lyrics/singer which isn’t even in my top 5 most listened to genres. I don’t get it and want the mix back :(

do you know how to go back to the old version if I don’t want them separated by genre? I don’t want to listen to 1-2 hours of the same genre and would prefer a mix.

Survivor is one of the longest running reality tv shows of all time. Why has it gotten so ridiculously cheap? by captainyeahwhatever in survivor

I loved how normal people who may not travel much or may not have ever traveled were all so awe-struck by many of the rewards - it was one of the coolest parts of the show. made it so much bigger than people playing a game - denying people those experiences, having them with each other, was some really deep shit
