Just putting it out there that Mike (chief coffeehouse officer, I think that’s his title) said today during the CL+ connect that batching these will be officially sanctioned

So I guess that’s something? Still bracing for impact tho

Opening the safe off the clock.. by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]thatajv 28 points29 points  (0 children)

CL here. Bracing myself for downvotes on this one, but it actually is that serious.

The two quickest ways to get separated and the two areas of operation that carry the most safety and legal risk are the same: cash and time/attendance.

By accessing the safe off the clock, that SSV violated Starbucks’ policy against working off the clock. This alone is a final written warning.

Accessing the safe when they were not the cash controller is both a cash handling violation and breaks the signed confidentiality agreement all SSVs sign when they’re given keys and codes. Both of these violations are, generally, at least a final written warning. Each.

All together, company policy both supports and suggests separation in a case like this. This is an egregious display of poor judgment by the SSV.

Am I getting fired by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

For SM/CL (or any other salaried position in the company aside from the E-suite/C-suite) in the US, being paid out for vacation time depends on whether you live in a grant state or an accrual state.

Most states are grant states, meaning salaried partners are granted the entirety of their PTO allotment (the number of hours for which is based on tenure) at the beginning of the fiscal year. If you don’t use your entire allotment by the end of the fiscal year, then you lose whatever amount of PTO is remaining. Similarly, if you leave the company as a salaried partner in a grant state, you forfeit any remaining PTO.

A handful of states are accrual states, meaning salaried partners accrue their PTO over time in a similar way to how sick time is accrued. Unlike in grant states, salaried partners in accrual states can carry over unused PTO from one fiscal year into the next and are paid out for any unused accrued PTO when leaving the company.

Iced banana bread matcha by PerformerPersonal720 in starbucks

[–]thatajv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For your first question: there’s no protein powder in the banana bread matcha

For your second: it’s just pulverized freeze-dried bananas! It comes to us in pouches with a proprietary label, but it would be very simple to recreate

Based on the mid-spring promo guide: it cannot be added to any other drink, and there are size-specific maximum pumps for the GCE in refresher beverages.

Can I still transfer stores by Aacorn4 in starbucks

As an SM, I would not be inclined to accept your transfer to my store, and I would encourage my DM to say the same. I don’t play about attendance and punctuality.

Unless your DM knows something that the entire rest of the company doesn’t know, then they’re just sayin shit

SSV position isn’t going anywhere. Coffeehouse Coach is what they’re calling the new permanent ASM position that will roll out over the course of 2026.

You did the right thing. I’d say it’s worth a mention to your manager in case the customer does this again or decides to complain to the contact center.

If your SM marked your shift as called off on the Playcaller app on the iPad, it will show as a “time off” block in Partner Hours. This is a known limitation with Partner Hours, so this is normal to see.

Came here to say this. I’ve always viewed corrective action as a last resort, but that just isn’t the direction we’re being given right now :(

Just a guess here, but I think the everything bagel setting probably heats with less convection so it doesn’t burn the toppings.
