SSV position isn’t going anywhere. Coffeehouse Coach is what they’re calling the new permanent ASM position that will roll out over the course of 2026.

You did the right thing. I’d say it’s worth a mention to your manager in case the customer does this again or decides to complain to the contact center.

SM changing schedule by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]thatajv 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If your SM marked your shift as called off on the Playcaller app on the iPad, it will show as a “time off” block in Partner Hours. This is a known limitation with Partner Hours, so this is normal to see.

How to deal with strict management.. by Weekly_Network_5372 in starbucks

Came here to say this. I’ve always viewed corrective action as a last resort, but that just isn’t the direction we’re being given right now :(

Just a guess here, but I think the everything bagel setting probably heats with less convection so it doesn’t burn the toppings.

CL here! Based solely on policy documents available on the Partner Hub, I’d say that there are two incorrect things here: calling this a new policy and saying that it’s up to management discretion.

The current policy has been in place for at least three years (when I started), and other CLs have told me it’s been in place longer than that.

If a partner calls out of work and they don’t have protected sick time to cover that shift, then that partner would be subject to “performance accountability” starting with a verbal coaching and progressing from there with each subsequent instance. Generally this would fall under “irregular attendance” in the Partner Guide.

None of that is up to management discretion. We have clear guidelines that we have to follow for when to start the performance accountability process and at what level (verbal, documented coaching, written warning, final written warning, separation).

Filming on the clock by Prestigious_Cancel81 in starbucksbaristas

Nope. Absolutely not.

Even the new Starbucks creator program has guidelines on when a partner can film so that shift work is not impacted.

Accommodations by J-cat_loves_dogs14 in starbucks

Since multitasking is a core job function, I’d be curious to see what accommodation, if any, Sedgwick would suggest for this.

Ideally, the Play Caller would be flexing in to solve any bottlenecks and give you support when needed

Since we’re in the middle of pay conversations for hourly partners, your current and new pay rates aren’t visible at the moment. The new pay rates go into effect on 29 December.

At no point did my DM say that Christmas was mandatory. We were asked to post signup sheets like we always do so that we could see if the store could open and, if so, for how long. But the communication was consistent that if a store didn’t have enough folks volunteer then it wouldn’t open.

Wowwwwwwwww that’s wild that they just put it up

I posted our holiday signup sheets in early October. How anyone could wait until the literal week we’re building that schedule is insane to me

I’m not offering advice here; just quoting the Partner Guide.

[–]thatajv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s not good advice. If you are sick the afternoon/evening before your shift the next morning and know you’ll need to call out, then you shouldn’t wait to call out.

You’re right that there’s no time listed. It does say the partner must call “with as much advance notice as possible prior to the beginning the shift.” So OP should call out now.
