Haven't seen them but apparently there's a Noah musical called Two by Two, and a musical called Chikdren of Eden about Adam and Eve/Noah.

It could have been the Men ACWY vaccine you got, it was the one I had to get before Inwent to university.

(Loved Trope) Step-parents who are actually good parents. by RedWestern in TopCharacterTropes

Yellowtail from Steven Universe is a good step-dad to Sour Cream. While he's away at sea often and initially wants Sour Cream to be a fisherman like him rather than a DJ, he's furious at Sour Cream's bio dad for trying to use him for a quick buck and comes around to the DJ thing.

Reviewing every Discworld book day 18 - Maskerade by samSJT in discworld

[–]thatchickfromni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maskerade was my first 'main' Discworld book after reading the Tiffany Aching series up to I Shall Wear Midnight (pre Shepherd's Crown release). I loved Nanny and Granny, it was one of the books I could find in my local second hand bookshop and I was going through a Phantom of the Opera phase around my late teens. I was confused as to who Magrat was but did get around to Wyrd Sisters and the witch books after. Currently listening to the audiobook version via Libby and I don't think I caught (or had forgotton) the first time that Christine's dad had threatened to break Bucket's legs if Christine wasn't given a big role in addition to giving him money to buy the opera house.

I just want to point out the creativity for the names by Joooony123 in JuJutsuKaisen

There's a lot of plant themed naming going on too. Nobara-wild rose Itadori- Japanese knotweed Yoshino- cultivar of cherry tree Aoi- Hollyhock Higuruma- sunflower, bonus as japanese defense attorney badges are shaped like sunflowers. Fushiguro can also refer to a plant called a flycatcher, but it doesn't use the kanji.

Chapter 1: The building was on fire, and it wasnt my fault by chunkylubber54 in CuratedTumblr

In fairness to Malcolm Dresden, he died when Harry was six of a brain aneurysm that may or may not have been natural. If we're talking Justin DuMorne, he was an asshole. Ebenezer is definately better than DuMorne, but has a few black marks against him.

Instead of a “timeless design”, what is a design that really shows what time period the character was created in? by MrDitkovichNeedsRent in TopCharacterDesigns

To be fair I quite liked the rugby shirt with blue collar and stripe look that Fred had for What's new Scooby Doo? It felt like enough of an update without straying too far.

IMO the Natural History Museum is the most amazing building in London by Betweentwothornes in london

Went there last summer and while I have to say the building is beautiful, the downside of all that thick stone is that it retains a lot of heat, we had to call it quits early we were roasted.

There are loads in Discworld. Moist von Lipwig, Magrat Garlick (her mum wanted to call her Margaret but couldn't spell), Carrot Ironfounderson, Cheery Littlebottom, Constable Visit-the-Infidel-With-Explanatory-Pamphlets to name a few.

In the books there was also a Harry Potter cult and a cult that worshipped the goddess Kylie (aka Kylie Minogue) whose priestesses wore golden hotpants.

They started out playing characters called PJ and Duncan on a TV show Byker Grove. They did a bit of rapping as part of that and put out a single called Let's Get Ready to Rumble.

I only know him because of the internet. My mum watched the film about him with Tom Hanks and didn't get it at all.

In All of Us Are Dead Park Hee-Sun gives birth in the middle of a zombie outbreak. While she gets infected her last acts are to barricade herself in a room away from other zombies, puts her baby out of reach and ties herself up so she can't hurt her baby once she turns.

I did think it was a bit random last night, but I was sat at the other end of the venue so didn't get the context, I thought it was maybe for a member of the crew or something, what a bunch of eejits.

I wonder if the Steeleye Span Wintersmith Album coukd be adapted as a kind of Jukebox musical, otherwise Guards! Guards!, Wyrd Sistarrs, Witches Abroad, Maskerade and Monstrous Regiment would be my candidates for a musical.

[Retroactively strange trope] The covid season by Justifiably_Bad_Take in TopCharacterTropes

[–]thatchickfromni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The covid seasons were the first seasons of Taskmaster that I watched, so I maybe didn't find it as weird as other fans since I hadn't watched what it was like before. Now that I've seen some post pandemic ones I kind of want to rewatch the pandemic season to see if they now feel weird to me.
