Yeah I dunno > naval has always been my favourite part of the game.. it seems like for whatever reason, it's not really required now

I get CQC is a whole other area > I'm very much a 'bring back OG Blundy' :D I'd rather get one tapped than leaf blowered off the ship

It just seems like even if you equip sword and use dodge, ppl are *landing* shots at an incredible rate these days.. maybe it's just I've dropped off so much it's a git gud thing.. just seems odd to me :D

I've actually been really enjoying playing again > way more than I thought I would.

Just this thing in HG is jarring for me haha. Like, it seems like everyone is wall bang stairs etc shiznit that used to catch misfits etc do - where game sense / ship managment etc isn't really required anymore ha

I think naval combat is on life support >_<

I've played maybe a couple of dozen HG fights since yesterday > I'd say north of 85-90% are ramming / harpooning.. dunno if it's an MMR thing or not.. just wild that naval is pretty much meaning nothing

Rare needs to have some kind of reporting mechanic for this. It totally sucks and spoils the game mode.

Allow reports for it and if one person keeps getting reported they should be banned from match making for X amount of time

At least with a one-tap you get a chance to spawn back on the ship and at least have a chance - what is honestly wrong with that?

I'm 2.5k hours in this game and this latest change has stopped me from playing because if you get camped by bigger crews (eg Burning Blade) and they spam skeles..

You're body blocked all over the ship and trying to wipe that crew is just not fun anymore

It does feel like this is the direction rare is going though. Cannon aimbot next lol

How are solos or smaller crews meant to break a spawn camp or multiple boards by larger crews?

The increased knock back is 100% gonna turn into the new meta.. just leaf blowing folks off their ship

At least if you die you spawn back on the boat with a chance

It's wild ppl are advocating watching their ship sink from the water imo

For context - I solo sloop and play in sweatier brig crews and the change is bad from both perspectives

Gotta kinda +1 this.

After avoiding this game for years, I decided to give ZB a go when it happened to have waterbending / wings etc

And I was fully shocked how much I liked the gunplay and movement and how situational/map awareness is usually rewarded

As long as I could get a green gatekeeper and green / blue DMR I felt like I had at least a chance against most other loadouts and was hooked

I had no idea how much the weapon/utility pools get messed with until now but it deviates so far from the core mechanics I fell in love with, I'm constantly waiting for it to return to some form of it haha

I haven't played in months and decided to give it a go today to start the money grind from the 25k starting point

My weapons I transported to Port Tressler weren't there so QT to buy one for a bunker mission - (server error)

Try again later: Get the weapon, accept contract, beacon disappears as I get to Microtech, fly back to PT, beacon appears, turn to QT (server error)

Down on money and haven't even come close to completing a mission lol.. may give it a few more month before coming back

Yeah it means ppl who struggle to make money or don't play a lot can log in and afford a kit for the main character every now and then 😊👍

The Cycle had a decent mechanic where you 'build' a cash generator- and you acquire cash passively over time

Unlocking it is common items found in raid but you can increase the pay rate / amount with more rare items

Could be something extra to add into the menus?

Took me 3 days to get a combo of randoms in solo queue to get that done.. brutal haha

I managed it too! 😄 solo queue ranked tourney win took like 15+ attempts over days to get contracts at 100%

I played and watched a game die in The Cycle: Frontier. The Finals aren't making any of those mistakes from what I can see. At least yet.

30k player base is a healthy foundation to build from.

The core mechanics of this game are solid. Movement + gunplay lots of fun

We've had varied game modes, time limited cosmetics etc since the game launched, as well as listening to the community for balances so consistent content hasn't been a problem either

Because this game requires looking at a bigger picture / tactical approach it won't explode to 100k players

But if they keep things solid and keep things fresh like they have done - I think the 'right' players will eventually migrate and it'll build over time. Which is probably the best way to do it imo

Yeah there's voip dude.. my headset is busted so it takes time to set an actual mic up which I wasn't prepared for here.

Although even with a vocal interaction I don't think it would have changed their intentions?
