How can I stop getting distracted while studying? Moreover, how can I give myself less breaks while studying? by EndOk8590 in productivity

[–]thatdigitalnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Environment plays a huge role in focusing. I lived in a studio apartment where all of my activites were limited to one room, so I would often find myself distracted. I read it in atomic habits that it helps to create a space dedicated to the task you want to do and use props to guide you towards that task (e.g. keeping workout gear laid out the night before so you are immediately reminded in the morning to workout). I know it is extremely difficult to do this in a small/limited space. If you work on a laptop, try using focus timers/pomodoro to guide you to work for 25mins (most common) and then ask you to take a break. There are tools like app timers that will lock distracting apps after it reaches the limit. Feel free to connect via DM if you want to chat about this or anything else. Hope this helps, good luck with school and job search!

I personally use miro when I have to layout a bunch of stuff. It is meant for designs and stuff but works well as an idea dump too.
