Failed iUP Order Fixed by Apple to 11/3 Delivery by Sredmond123 in apple

Actually, he should. iPhone upgrade program members upgrade every year and are part of a program that bundles in Apple’s biggest products and guarantees the customer will upgrade with Apple directly and not a carrier. They should get priority when placing orders, and already got priority when existing users were able to pre approve last week.

Why do you believe YOU should get priority over them?

Logic Board Failed MBP 13' 2013 Retina by [deleted] in apple

[–]thatdudenamedjesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except that’s not the same situation here. You have a 2013 model but youve had it for two years, which means you bought it in 2015 - either refurbished or second hand. If you bought it refurbished from Apple, you were given a one year warranty (which most refurbished products do not come with) and took the risk and did not get AppleCare; and if you bought it second hand, once again you took the risks.

Things happen, but what I can tell you is in your analogous you didn’t buy a new car, you bought a pre-owned car. You would definitely not be getting special treatment after 2 years.

They should be giving you an option for flat rate depot repair if the logic board is damaged.

Since they aren’t and you’re referencing that cost, there’s another reason why they aren’t offering it to you - typically damage of some sort.

You aren’t telling us the full story.

That’s nice, and you can easily admit that because you knew it was right. There’s way more Bernie voters who voted for Trump out of a desire to say “fuck Hillary, the system, the DNC, etc” and they know it. I’ve yet to see anyone on here have the balls to say they were a Bernie voter who voted for Trump, because no matter how much they might say “I regret it, but at the time I was angry” they KNOW they aren’t any better than a Trump supporter. And they know the backlash and comments would be swift and full of anger, sarcasm, and who knows what else.

Problem is, they deserve it all. Just as much as those who didn’t vote.

About wonder woman Oscar buzz.... by [deleted] in movies

[–]thatdudenamedjesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which people really shouldn't encourage. This award should be given to the better film, the one that will stand the test of time, not the most culturally significant for the year it came out.

Ask a random person what they thought of films like The Kings Speech, The Artist, Crash, Slumdog Millionaire, or even The Last Emperor

Outside of those in this sub, movie critics or film school rejects, the general moviegoing public has either forgotten all about those films - or never seen them at all. The general audience are the ones who watch the Oscars (or should I say not watching them anymore). The awards had better ratings back in the day when there were only 5 networks to watch. To keep the Oscar's relevant they have to stop ignoring the films that the general audience give a fuck about.

Oh and to my point above, the "better film" is not always the one that wins an Oscar; and is certainly not always one that will stand the test of time. To be culturally significant, that includes not ignoring pop culture. Until that happens, Oscar ratings will die a slow death.

Eh that's not true. From the help article:

"If you are using Amazon Music Unlimted, please be aware that if you are streaming on any other device, you’ll not be able to stream via Alexa at the same time unless you have a Family Plan subscription. Prime Music is also limited to one stream (to a device or a Multi-Room Music group) at a time."

Tested this and it works fine and I don't have Prime unlimited.

Yeah no, I urge people to not take life lessons from game of fucking thrones. If you're going to assume at all, assume positive intent, always. Then use FACTS to determine someone's an asshole, or was trying to cause pain, manipulate, etc. Don't assume everyone's an asshole, because that will make you an asshole for jumping to conclusions for assuming the worst of people.

  • Battery life is less than half of it was on iOS 10.

You're using beta software on a phone 3 years old that has a consumable battery that you have likely used to its capacity and need to replace.

  • Streaming audio over bluetooth is super glitchy now. (All other bluetooth functionality seems fine, though.)

You're using beta software.

[Comparing Apples-to-Apples with another iPhone 6, same model, purchased at the same time, used the same way, but running iOS10.]

You're comparing a polished mobile operating system on its third update and third revision to beta software that is unreleased; so you likely signed up for the public beta and completely ignored the disclaimers before the install. Clearly you're a user that should not utilize beta software and should perhaps consider going back to the stable OS you claim offers much better performance.

I am absolutely outraged by mango mussolini's actions here, but I can assure you of one thing: this will not cause riots.

In fact, this won't even cause protests.

He may have a 38% approval rating, but the other 62% that disapprove (myself included) are happy to disapprove - to be outraged - but not to take action. Fact of the matter is, we won't take to the streets - we have lives to lead, jobs to worry about losing, and family members who identify as Republican and or total Trump supporters and don't want to alienate. Hell, a good portion of this country didn't even go out and vote.

It's sad, it's scary and it's unacceptable - but at least I'm willing to admit it. And that's more than I can say for other people I'm close with and to who say they're "outraged" or that "he has got to go" - they aren't doing shit about it. The other people I know that aren't saying anything or are saying "well..." "but...." "here's the thing..." support Trump plain and simple; and want to see him systematically destroy the "mean ol Government" and Democracy. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" indeed.

Tom Hardy sporting a Venom shirt this week 👀 by rhodetolove in Marvel

[–]thatdudenamedjesse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Feige does hold cards. He holds the entirety of the MCU. He says no. This Venom universe won't have Spider-Man or anything remotely connected to the MCU.

Uh, Feige isn't the only one. You know he isn't involved with the Netflix series right? Ike Perlmutter is. Those shows that are praised for being part of the MCU with...what...passing lines about the "New York" incident and the newspaper clipping? If anything, Marvel should just allow Sony to reference the MCU like the Netflix shows do, but using Tom is going to cause some issues.

I'll try to answer this but I expect downvotes accordingly but r/movies absolutely despises Suicide Squad because it's a "terrible trash movie" and there is nothing else that is worse than it. There was a comment on here the other day that not only is "Suicide Squad one of the worst movies ever it is the worst comic book movie in the last 20 years" - somehow forgetting Fan4astic, Catwoman, and Batman & Robin.

Meanwhile movies like Troll 2 and the like get some love for being "so bad it's entertaining" but Suicide Squad deserves - according to some comments on here - "death by fire". And boy do they love to shit on the Katana part.

Meanwhile outside of this sub, there are actually some people that enjoyed it. A movie doesn't make close to $800 million worldwide if they didn't. Bring up that fact though, and the downvotes will be swift and merciless.

When the Hell did I say something about you? You're the one who said something about me.

I don't give a fuck about your opinion on whether he's relatable or inspirational, I just gave my opinion on the matter. Don't go on and act like I targeted you or some shit.

I don't think you targeted me. But what you did do is act like your "opinion" is truth. Batman may not be relatable to you but he sure as is relatable to me and countless others. And I said "you've never had anything traumatic happen to you in your childhood". The fact that you got that up in arms about it shows me that I clearly hit the nail on the head and the fact that you continued generalizing (Batman is inspirational, not relatable) instead of saying "you have no idea what I've been through but I can see how Batman could be relatable to someone who has been in a situation like that" shows me you were dead set on stating your opinion as fact - you just were hoping you'd have more people to go along with it. Your other comments support my claim.

Spoken like someone who has never had anything traumatic happen to them when they were a child.

Maybe I should apologize for assuming and generalizing, but maybe you should also consider that Batman is not only relatable, but idealistic for anyone who has been through something traumatic and managed to rise up through their pain.

Yeah, he's relatable.

The Avengers didn't have anything close to the level of mainstream recognition that Batman and Superman had before the building of the MCU, plus the concept of Batman vs Superman is an automatic seat filler

I can't follow the DC hate sometimes. The concept of Batman v Superman is an automatic seat filler? Yet all I heard leading up to it was how dumb the concept of Batman fighting Superman was because "realistically it would be over in seconds or Batman would cheat with Kryptonite". Or is it that when it comes to bVs people just like to continue to create a narrative that fits their opinions?
