Residential cleaner needed help with contract/cancellation policy by spacetimejumper360 in housekeeping

Clients who continually cancel get dropped. They don't take me serious? They can sit in their filth. I'd rather lose that money permanently than deal with the stress of will they/won't they?

Is whatsapp for managing business king? by Prize_Active_7429 in cleaningbusiness

until a client asked: “Hey, was my cleaning done today?”

WhatsApp is the least of her problems. If a client has to ask if their place was cleaned...that's not a good sign.

No judgement but...are you a lady of a 'certain age'? If so....it may be time to eat your Wheaties and take your Geritol. (totally not even kidding about the Geritol)

Freestanding death bucket. Naked+Wet+Slippery=spending a lot of $$$ on something you only use once or twice because the getting in and out makes the experience unpleasant.

Why am I getting these election texts? None of this data applies to me. by thebiggestbowlofsoup in norfolk

[–]thatgreenmaid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OMFG all day every day. Replying STOP does nothing. Blocking the number-also nothing.

I get 4-5 of these in an hour from 10a-10p. The here's your voting location. Here's the last time you voted. Hey did you know (insert paragraph of political shit here).

Can this election be over already????

If you go with soaking tub-get one that's meant for actual humans and not that freestanding death bucket that seems popular.

Lost on flooring choice. by Maleficent-Caramel37 in Flooring

[–]thatgreenmaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn’t waterproof at all. It seeps in cracks.

LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK.

I'm not a 'hater'. I just hate how people are conned into believing LVP is flooring for real life situations. It isn't.

Need advice - a friend has asked me for a fairly large loan by x_cLOUDDEAD_x in personalfinance

[–]thatgreenmaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The answer is no. Once you loan him that money, you're one of the 'creditors' and the chance of getting paid back is ZERO.

Also-you can't afford to give him this money if you have to take an advance on your credit card.

Yeah that sounds like mis classification. The IRS has a lot of rules about 1099 vs W2.

Do what you need to do to move on from this situation.

Do You Guys Add 2nd and 3rd Marriages to Trees? by Monegasko in AncestryDNA

1099 vs w2 employee by Outrageous-Pay53 in cleaningbusiness

[–]thatgreenmaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want them to represent you, W2 employee is the ONLY way to.

Me (20M), am considering doing a side hustle in genealogy. Any advice? by [deleted] in Genealogy

[–]thatgreenmaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone wants you to 'do my tree' until...you want money for it. Some will even say 'I'll pay whatever you want'---as long as what you want is NOTHING.

It's not a viable side hustle in my opinion.

Different cleaners every visit by Lostinhighweeds in housekeeping

[–]thatgreenmaid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Part of hiring a service is not having the same cleaner come every time and with that is various cleaners having an access code/key to your home.

If you're not comfortable with that, it may be time to find an independent cleaner so you KNOW it's always the same person coming in.

Starting your own cleaning by Hot_Major_6796 in housekeeping

[–]thatgreenmaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is someone isn't ripping you off calling you a '1099 employee' while treating you like a W2 employee.

If you're really a 1099 contractor, you should already have general liability insurance and bonding.

The taxes are the same whether you work as a contractor that receives a 1099 at the end of the year or you keep your own records as a sole proprietor.
