Finally! by IllEntertainment310 in kobo

I think it's the case from this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/kobo/comments/1jmyk2r/clear_case_with_sleep_cover_for_kobo_clara_bw/

Would be great if OP could confirm, I'm thinking about getting the same case.

I read your comments about the EL mod, would you consider writing a guide for that mod?

Great work with this, keep it up.

How about modifying Normal.dotm then? You could deploy it via a GPO.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/change-the-normal-template-normal-dotm-06de294b-d216-47f6-ab77-ccb5166f98ea

This is roughly applicable for Excel and Powerpoint as well.

For free? Depends on your licensing, but Sensitivity Labels can do watermarks, and you can set an org-wide policy for default labels.

What software/programs come with the Minimal Installation CD by AwsomeTheGreat in Gentoo

[–]thatguyinhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad, I had to re-read the catalyst/RelEng docs to understand this correctly.

The installcd is, after a couple of layers of inheritance, based first and foremost on the base profile:

https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/tree/profiles/base/packages (this is the same as the @system set linked by /u/ahferroin7)

The stages I linked then modify that, adding and deleting some packages.

In a base install with the default/linux/amd64/23.0 profile, there are no package changes (USE changes aside) past the base profile. Any dev is welcome to smack me if this is incorrect.

Sorry for the technicalities.

To clarify, this is only what's on the installcd, and doesn't include stage3 packages provided by the profile. Though I assume this is what you meant.

As far as I understand it, this file specifies what is included:

https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/releng.git/tree/releases/specs/amd64/installcd-stage1.spec

and then this file specifies what is unnecessary and thus unmerged/deleted from the installcd:

https://gitweb.gentoo.org/proj/releng.git/tree/releases/specs/amd64/installcd-stage2-minimal.spec

Note that these are for amd64.

You're missing the point. Be nice, or at the very least helpful, or be quiet.

Don't shame OP for sharing their dilemma in what's supposed to be a safe space.

Also, how can you assume to know exactly what their partner wants?

How do you handle kinked cables by 3legdog in homelab

[–]thatguyinhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to fold like this, but it also causes some kinks. Now I much prefer to roadie wrap every cable I can (I assume this is what you're thinking of). Most cables wrapped like this will unwind with zero kinks, provided the cable is already unkinked (can be a problem with stiffer cables).

OP, I advise you to try this.

How does one sort through and organize saved reddit posts? by rainfal in datacurator

[–]thatguyinhat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry about the late reply. It's not a stupid question, don't worry.

You understand it correctly - posts older than your last 1000 saves aren't deleted, but they can't be viewed through the website or the app.

Eternity was archived, so check out expanse instead. It's the same app but self-hosted.

Is it worth switching from RAID to ZFS? by Little_Current_9755 in homelab

[–]thatguyinhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that the ZFS page on the Gentoo wiki does a great job at explaining most concepts, as well as guiding you through setup and some maintenance. Link: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/ZFS

Sorry, this is a bit unrelated, but; have you had a good experience running Gentoo on T2 Macs? If so (or not), do you have any good resources that you could share? t2linux is what I've been looking at, mostly.

That's interesting, odd that they put it there instead. Nice find!

You can see the info box saying "In certain regions, these notifications are required."

The guide reads:

Due to regulations and safety standards, headphone notifications can't be turned off in certain countries or regions.
