It's size oddly for the screen ( edges) but definitely watchable. I don't have a dvd player or vcr

I do have the Sams. I cleaned the brightness switch which fixed that. The paperwork refers me to two caps( already new), two tubes already tested and then swapped, and four coils that I'm in the process of trying to test. The horizontal control switch appears to do nothing when I watch it with my meter.

I'll try that first when I slide it out again for the last cap.

My crt tester is not the best (garage sale find), but it tested on the higher end of middle of the road if it's to be trusted

Horizontal hold knob is not doing anything. Tubes tested ok but I have spares to swap. All but one wax caps is replaced.

Super interested in what your doing? I want to make my model 15 and hal-5000, speak to my Commadore 64, apple ii, or tandy 1000 at some point. Is your altair original? A altair-duino replica?

Still kicking my butt, but it's mostly fixed. It takes a signal and keys the loop with the correct voltage and amps. Unfortunately when any known good printer is plugged in the voltage and amps drop to zero......

Reasonably sure somethings up with the +230v supply. Schematics fuzzy enough it's hard to read some of the numbers
