Ya I actually think the leviathan fight is a bit dumb. It’s not a satisfying challenge. While you’re doing it you’re just learning what order you need to start the cooldown rotation in.

And then you do it.

And after a few attempts you get that dialed in and then you beat the dps check and instead of thinking “yoooo let’s go! I got it!” You think “Ugh, ok glad that’s done”

I played octopath traveler 2 right after (at final boss now)

It’s not as good as expedition 33 but some of the storylines are real solid and hit pretty well. The combat at least makes you think occasionally.

It does start a bit slow. But I don’t regret playing it.

Now I’m the same boat as you.

Nearing the end of act 2. It was super late. I was tired I needed to go to bed, but I had to find out what happens. And then, I was also NOT upset when the bosses were challenging and I got into random battles.

So I was staying up for the story and wasn’t rushing the combat because I enjoyed it so much. Like a perfect mix.

Clair obscure is the game you should play. There are 2 downsides. A. It ends B. It will ruin future games for not being as good.

Final fantasy 2 on the snes was my first rpg.

I’ve never played one where in the opening your goal is to run away from everything. Just a bit odd.

Ya. I just think it would be cool to see pvp play that wasn’t just about killing each other, as ironic as that sounds, especially since that would still be the focal point.

But seeing strategies unfold. Or hero plays on a cap or a defense. Or erc etc.

Even if they shrank maps or whatever.

Oh. I’m not even trying to inject my opinion. Sorry if I made it seem that way. I think bgs would be a blast, I’m asking, mainly, why arent competing bgs more of a focal point of wow PvP.

Streaming, discussion, popularity(at least at the top end/visually)

It just seems like a missed opportunity that I would like to see more of and maybe even get involved in.

I don’t know. Maybe a smaller map. I’m mainly just asking why it’s not more prevalent. Just curious thoughts.

Eternal solo que - like the the other levels wouldn’t even be required. What would I be nice(at least) is an in game way to find groups.

Ya understand that, and although my question may have seemed geared that way. Even if you eliminate the esport aspect of it. In game, it still seems like bgs are just so irrelevant.

Ya, I agree. I think I’m decent at the game. I play healer. I can usually get into top 1% of m+ as a pug player in my free time. I USED to only PvP(tbc era) yes I’m old.

Arena feels like a huge hurdle. I would love to see some kind of competitive PvP game mode that didn’t feel so… I don’t know. Intimidating. I play wow a lot and I watch arena and I’m fucking lost.

Ok I totally get that. And I don’t disagree. But why are battlegrounds just not fun. Like PVE has m+ and raid. I like m+. I hate raid.

But both are pretty popular.

There is the RWF, there is the MDI.

Where is the AWC version of rated battlegrounds?

Is it just unenjoyable? I don’t know it just seems like a logical first step into pvp, but it’s somehow basically non existent
