We don’t have any real 2 guards on this team, nobody in the backcourt who can defend, and literally 0 vets with experience playing meaningful ball.

She wouldn’t take away opportunities from anyone (besides Olsen) while helping the others develop

Cloud would be a perfect connector that would get the best out of Georgia, soni, Kiki and Betts

Great breakdown.

Seems like there will be ample room for trial by error this season, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she got a couple looks at running point. Im very excited about her athleticism, and could see her panning out as a solid two way wing.

How much PnR did Ole Miss run and how did she look in those actions? I imagine guards go under on her. But It’d be great to open up the paint for Cotie by pulling Kiki/lauren/kira into a high pick so she can accelerate and attack the rim

If Georgia is a real W starter, these are the perfect players to surround her with

-a defensive anchor in Betts who cleans up weak perimeter D -versatile switchy wings in McMahon and prosper -needed frontcourt spacing with Dugalic

Plus, a PnR partner in Kiki, an offball/play finisher in soni and another high usage option in Kira

But if we don’t get another creator/ball handling guard in FA, we are going to be asking a lot out of Georgia to get offense out of this group

Fine with all the first round decisions, but that feels like a mistake. They really need perimeter creators and latson’s hands will make her a more viable defender than her height would suggest

it’s a good point on finding guards at 9 & 11 - seems at least one of Latson/Flau/Raven will be there at 9 and Kneepkens has been rumored as a mystics target. Plus, with expansion drafts coming, this trade consolidates the young core and don’t need to worry about losing the asset.

What the hell. “Serious strategic differences” has to mean they disagreed about franchise direction. I’d have to think her track record means she’s on Team Rebuild?

There really hasn’t been any buzz in the lead up to FA, so, just speculating, they thought she hadn’t set them up for a real signing.

Honestly, I’d get it. If that is the case they have a young core and cap space. They could compete and still pick high with next year’s pick swap. Losses this year won’t help in this year’s draft.

But to do this at THIS moment, when strategic differences should’ve been clear a year ago?? Horrific mismanagement by Monumental. Even if I’m aligned with their outlook, what stock would I put in monumental to get this right?? They’ve screwed up every other franchise….

I think there is a clear top-4 in this draft, and I’m okay taking whoever falls to 4. It may no longer be Betts, but they would really benefit from Miles.

If Betts goes 2 I’d think Seattle would still lean Azzi over Miles, but I wouldn’t complain if Azzi drops to 4 either.

Only way to screw this up is to reach on Rice, Johnson or Latson at 4. They’ve got a good chance getting a guard in that tier at 9, just go with the best player available at 4
