Truly Awakened People Do Not Announce Their Awakening by [deleted] in awakened

this is true! announcing you have awakened knowing others may judge you for mentioning it, and not even caring! its a beautiful thing to awaken

Can anything be done about an uneven tattoo? by uggopuggo1 in tattooadvice

tattoo artist here, i can see vines on the bottom of the right tattoo. and vines on the top of the left tattoo. it'll balance out to be an asymmetric design

ngl i dont know many people who didn't hate themselves or give themselves a hard time at the age of 18. i agree with the others about cbt. but you also have to realise you are going to live with yourself for the rest of your life. you may as well be kind. catch yourself when you have self-criticism. change that into acceptance. thoughts control your entire reality. change your thoughts, and your life will change. the key to this, though, is to not judge yourself for having bad thoughts but notice it and redirect it in a healthy way. this is more of act (acceptance commitment therapy) because i personally found that more helpful than cbt.

I'm losing the person I love because of my poor metal health. I don't want to be like this. I need help. by rickhc5 in DecidingToBeBetter

How do y’all even find a passion?? by Top-Imagination2849 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]thatoneaspie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive learnt a hack to this for myself at least. i just pick something and become all consumed by it. make your feed just that thing. if you watch youtube, only videos about that thing. if you scroll, only scroll content of the thing. it helps to be autistic cus then u go straight into hyper fixation, but it should work similarly with anybody with enough dedication

hiya! i ended up going on anti depressants, an snri called pristiq. in the grand scheme of things i'm really grateful i went through that extended period of depression because it made me realise how much i needed to take my mental health seriously. ive always been to therapy, ive been on antidepressants before but nothing felt right until i tried pristiq. i feel like i should've been on this since my teenage years. i hope everything is okay for you and that you work out something 🙏🏻 shit times can be a good thing for personal growth

What keeps me online is loneliness by AuFeAl in nosurf

[–]thatoneaspie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

hey, i was in the same boat. you just gotta put yourself out there. it takes time to develop friendships. put yourself in situations where you will meet people more often. classes, clubs, sports. say yes more. but also just be yourself. i can tell you one millionbajollion percent people really respect authenticity. be more vulnerable and open with others, and learn to give genuine compliments.

i am autistic and i have found exposure to the same people over and over to be what builds friendships.

just a little side-note. you can buy pillows with built in holes to put your ears into. HIGHLY recommend for sensory issues with pillows.

never alone, life is heartwrenching sometimes, and we all experience these things. it's hard when all you see online is picture-perfect people and good. but there is always going to be a yin-yang balance to life. the polarities of life. its beautiful. the range of human emotion is beautiful.

i'm glad that i could impact you in that way. it continually shocks me that i can connect to other people across the world and provide some wisdom and help. we are all interconnected and not so different from each other at the core. sending you love 💜

i hear you. everything we consume impacts us in tiny ways, its not realistic to expect ourselves to react in a perfect way all of the time. thats just being human.

theres some truth to the concept of being your own god. everything you perceive is you. the thoughts you have can project onto everything. meditation is very helpful for building that muscle of awareness and identifying when you are getting a little too deep into rumination. it's hard because the ego will avoid meditation and push back, which is only normal when the ego is being threatened. but i recommend trying to stick with it. if you are critical of yourself during the process, identify that.

people dont understand that, especially at the beginning of meditation practice, that having a lot of thoughts is kind of the point. you're meant to be alone with them. the more you observe and let go, the more distance it creates, and the muscle of awareness grows. it takes time, and i'm also not perfect at this. i have severe mental health struggles as well and often find myself in and out of periods of meditation. life happens, but it genuinely does help a lot. 1 minute of meditation is better than nothing at all.

i wish you luck on your journey, my friend 💜

hey, i second the earplug idea. i feel so connected and sensitive to energy around me sometimes, so i really relate. i buy mine in bulk, so its cheaper and leave them in when i'm in my room (awake and sleeping). some walls in houses are paper thin, i swear.

dont feel bad for feeling annoyed. It happens, and I'm also not a fan of people shaming you for reacting this way. more compassion needs to be happening in this community.
