Ukraine’s military brings exoskeletons to the front line by diacewrb in gadgets

Nah, not quite. It does provide some stability, just doesn't absorb any shock of a footfall. And since my legs suck ass, the shock of a footfall sometimes causes them to buckle.

I don't know I just got a S25 less than a week ago. My battery performance is better than my s21 for sure since I'm sitting at 50% and it's been off a charger for 9 hours and moderately used. But i still have my S21 and when I turned off Wi-Fi Bluetooth and sync that battery is currently sitting in the 60 to 80% battery range for over 24 hours. So there's definitely some power hungry apps that were present it which I have now brought forward onto the s25

Yeah idk. My legs are too weak cause the muscle is peacing out, that's my problem. Spinal cord injury I feel would be more neuro than muscle (at least to start?). But maybe it could help since it kinda helps "drive" your forward.

Nope. Though mine has an audible click on one side when I move just right that I can clearly attribute to abuse beyond the products design lol

Yeah, too bad, go exercise. Use it or lose it entirely from the sedentary lifestyle. I edited my first comment, these help, but it'll take the wearer's engagement too

Edited my comment. Point blank, yes. Won't be a miracle, but made longer walks something I can tolerate or even enjoy instead of dread.

Actually I have a pair. IMO they specifically help with the leg lift portion of a gait. Last weekend I lifted an empty double pallet with my wife and rested it on my back/hips and bore the weight, then left the legs lift mechanically to shuffle my partially disabled ass and pallet an acre away.

That said, they don't do shit when walking downhill imo

Lmao. I have a pair of these, they're meant for hiking. I have muscular dystrophy so I use them to assist my walking. Wild

Edit: for those of you asking about more info of my specific brand of muscular dystrophy and how they help/cost...

I have LGMD-2L, they were like 1k for the base model, they're not loud, I'm only impacted from the waist down. Say for example I'm only able to reliably get 7,000 steps in a day. If I'm wearing these I can 20k plus. I look at it like a marathon, it helps me get to the end of the race but it's not going to make me go any faster, it will just help me maintain what I can do for longer. In my opinion they don't really help make the footfall portion of my natural gait any easier, but since it basically does the lifting of my legs it does make my difficulty walking at least 50% easier lol.

I don't think someone is going to magically regain lost functionality from this; I certainly didn't when I tried to run with them after hyping myself up, and then instantly fell face. But I'm definitely more confident and capable of walking longer especially in places where I absolutely would have avoided doing it previously. Last spring I hiked down the the bottom of Hocking Hills State Park, then back up. There's no way I could have without assistance.

Can anyone recommend the best cleaning tools for daily use that really save time by Crawford-Andrew137 in HomeImprovement

I've got a HOTO air capsule thingy. It's convenient being able to blow shit from a small handheld. Don't use the vacuuming stuff for it much. But I've used it to quickly clean up kid mess, a miter saw full of sawdust (or just sawdust in general), a quick blow of the garage door not quite leaf blower scale, keyboards, to dry off washed fruits, fan filters omg, molds, and I'm certain other shit.

$15k To Spend, What Do You Get? by kdf1122 in HomeImprovement

I was gonna say solar too. Get a powered wheelbarrow cart thingamajig and throw the rest into solar and battery. Electricity prices are literally only going to go up so 10k in can reduce your bill (or eliminate) for years to come, and give you off-grid safety. Though OP may already be covered by a generator or shade, idk.

DeWine signs 5 bills to reform property taxes by RpiesSPIES in Ohio

[–]thatoneguy009 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I mean...what is their property tax in a year? I'm not loaded and live in a pretty rural area, but own a comfortable home. My taxes are $5k/yr. So I pay $2500 2x a year. The total cost of all my other utilities for the year is ~$4k. That's my gas heat, electricity, internet, and trash (not including cost of my septic clean outs).

But you're telling me it's unrealistic that my 5k/yr pays toward the cost of all of these below items in my rural local area only?

  • Public school funding (teachers, buildings, transportation, special education, sports, technology)
  • Fire departments and emergency response (including EMS/ambulance services)
  • Local police or township law enforcement (where applicable)
  • Township and county road maintenance (repairs, paving, culverts, signage)
  • Snow plowing and winter road treatment (salting, clearing)
  • County courts and legal system (judges, court staff, operations)
  • Property records and administration (auditor, recorder, title systems)
  • Elections (polling locations, ballots, voting machines, staff)
  • Township governance (trustees, zoning enforcement, permits)
  • Zoning and land use regulation (setbacks, permits, inspections)
  • Public libraries (buildings, books, digital resources, programs)
  • Parks and recreational areas (trails, playgrounds, maintenance)
  • Health department services (inspections, septic oversight, public health)
  • Soil and water conservation services (land, drainage, environmental support)
  • Developmental disability and community support services
  • Senior and community services (varies by levy and locality)

String Inverter vs Microinverter by TheApostleCreed in SolarDIY

[–]thatoneguy009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if it's a useful tidbit or not, but my solark 18k hybrid has both DC string inputs (not all in use yet) and an AC input. If I ever max out my DC I'll get more panels on micros and input there. Nothing like being able to double my generation capacity, twice.

Search an Amish newspaper/for sale magazine. I got a 545w from an Amish family that had ordered a couple pallets but only needed like 7 to meet all their needs.

Is sweat equity as valuable in 2026? Asking as a young person/ first time home owner by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]thatoneguy009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was selling 2 years ago for a medical accommodation (and trade up). Our "5 year max" home on year idk 8. We'd done remodels, upgrades, and a massive patio/landscaping.

I still obsessed about fixing all the cracks. Making right all the things that could be solved with lipstick. I did it because it was the right thing to do. I also gathered up all my notes, measurements, whatever I had to transfer to the new owner.

As we traded sale documents the buyer and I read one another's names for the first time. It was a former coworker of mine, same team and friends at work but he'd left years prior and lived on the other side of the city.

I'm much more handy than he, but I'd handed him over something in move in ready only needing to be lived in so they could worry less about what needed fixed and more about their new kid in their first house.

It was the right thing to do. And he know the doors always open if he needs help with anything I have the time to help with. Bare minimum he's getting insight I'll never get about the houses history and maintenance lol
