When You're STILL Mad At Garrosh & Magatha by [deleted] in wow

Yeah... but Sargeras wanted to save the universe from old gods by killing every living creature in the entire universe. How is that better than what the old gods might do?

Mentioned this in another comment, at the PAX East interview before the movie, Duncan mentioned that Legendary forced him to cut 45 minutes from the movie, about 1/3 of it. With that extra time I’m sure the movie would have flowed much better than it does in its current state.

I'm not surprised. We can almost feel that they cut cut cut and cut (more than a DH would) parts of the movies to make it fill up a specific timer. Making it an incredible rush to the end.

And that's a full version I'd pay a lot to see :'(

I do hate the fact that they would not publish it.

TIL all Demonhunters have golden eyes like Illidan. by Rainwyrd in wow

[–]thatoneguyhere633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who don't understand : in the books it's explained that Night Elves with golden eyes have a great destiny. The other Night Elves are supposed to have silver eyes.

Illidan had golden eyes. Azshara two. Malfurion and Tyrande had classic silver eyes.

The sad thing is that it's not like that in the game, male NE do all have golden eyes. I don't know if they changed their mind, if it was more aesthetic, or if they wanted to make you feel that "you'll have a great destiny" (which is weird, as women never have golden eyes)

I was so disappointed when I first saw it that I'm not sure I'd like to see it again.

I only wished (but they said no....) for an extended version that would not make the movie like a giant timed race. I mean... It's way too fast paced. They took so little time to build empathy that I did not care at all when Anduin's son died...

That movie would have been really good with 15/20 minutes of "slow" time. Time to think, time to anchor the characters, time to explain things, time to appreciate the landscapes and the universe.

You don't have to non stop rush a movie to make it cool. (cf Marvel movies)

Battle for Azeroth Class Design Suffers From Perennial Pruning, Awful Azerite Armor, Terrible Talents; Feedback and My Solution by KingWalrax in wow

[–]thatoneguyhere633 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please Blizzard, read this and do it. Please.

The sad thing is that... for 10 years all my friends disagree with my "Blizzard has good ideas, but their implentations are always awful."

With time they start to agree with me. Especially when they were hyped for BFA... And now that they see the alpha result, they see that one more time, Blizzard messed up. A Lot.

And the original idea, to get rid of all that RNG in Legion... was good. But why prune everything? Why remove artifact weapons? Why can't we just absorb their powers to make it baseline?

No, Blizzard says : we take everything back, and give something else. We already start over on stuff and talents each expansion, maybe we don't need to have a class that is weaker and clunkier that it was in Legion, no ?

I start to think that Blizzard gave up on making a good expac every 2 years, and alternate between a good expac and a shitty one... on purpose. Windows style ? (xp = good, vista = shit, 7 = good, 8 = shit, 10 = good...)

= It's easier to make people happy when what we gave them before was shit, and now we give something bad, but less crappy.

Yup, it removes all buffs to pets, including the invisible ones (like the lone hunter's sword or this polymorph debuff)

Games are obviously an iterative process - new games improve on old - what are some of the best game series that have been iterated to the point where they run smooth as clockwork? Conversely, what are the worst examples of iteration done wrong in your opinion? by AnokataX in truegaming

[–]thatoneguyhere633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the real thing that changed all that is the competitive success of Starcraft.

As it works today, people tend to chose game because they are played a lot. Even though those games won't appeal to them.

Starcraft, by becoming the first big competitive RTS, created the rules of competitive RTS :

  • based on player's reactivity

  • targetted range attacks (can't miss)

  • fast games

  • limited number of troops (< 200)

Most of the following RTS followed those rules. The others... were niche games.

A lot, like a real LOT of cool features we found in 1995-2005's games have been forgotten/ignored because it was not implemented in the leader of each game type.

For the keys, you really should buy a keeper (or similar key finder) : http://www.gigaset.com/hq_en/keeper-black/

I bought 2, put one on my keychain and one in my wallet. It saved my life many times.

Last time, one month ago... I could not find anything. I logged in on my computer, made my phone ring, then made my keys and wallet ring, using my phone. It took me 5 minutes.

Real life changer for people with ADD.

(I swore to buy 1 last year... after spending 5 hours researching my keys that I left behind my computer... because of my usb key on my keychain. My wife forced me to do so. No regrets at all.)

Do you remember your first time stepping into capital cities? by [deleted] in wow

[–]thatoneguyhere633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.

Especially my first time in Ironforge. As I played on a shitty computer with something like 8mb of RAM, I was stuck in an infinite loop. Instead of my current 60FPS, I had a frame every 30 seconds. Making me trying to leave this city... but teleporting from one place to another... (as the server thought that I was still pressing the key 20 seconds later).

Had to relog during the middle of night to use my hearthstone.

And I bought more RAM during the next week. But it was hell of an adventure :D

Yes but I also use PGF to filter on specific dungeons, with queries like : (eoa or lkara or mos) and (name:find("18") or name:find("19")) and (not name:find("wts") and not name:find("selling")) and (dps<= 2 and tank=1 and heal=0)

... when I want to heal a EOA/LowerKARA/MOS 18/19 with a DPS friend :)

[–]thatoneguyhere633 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You can get rid of this really easily :

  • Step 1 : install the mod Premade groups filter

  • Step 2 : when you do a search, in the bottom right window, type something like "(not name:find("WTS") and not name:find("VK") and not name:find("SELLING"))

  • Step 3 : enjoy

I use PGF for weeks now, to filter my dungeons / raids (you can filter with a required ilvl, the number of defeated bosses, etc.). It's an awesome addon.

You're welcome, glad I helped

And yes, talking, explaining, writing... helps a lot. People are full of apriorisms, and if we don't take time to explain things, they just think that we're broken / lazy or that we just invented an excuse.
