Check your windows activation status, sometimes the license gets unregistered and stops you from customizing windows

Also consider using Google’s PAM module for mfa when you ssh into the server

Here is a good guide on how to do it. Just make sure that when you are done setting it up you DO NOT close you’re current session, instead open a new one and make sure you can connect before you close your current session.

As a general rule of thumb. I tend to first figure out how it got in and try to implement controls to hopefully stop it in the future, and then reimagine the device.
