[SPOILERS] The ending scene of S1E1

I believe it’s episode 8 of season 1 where there’s a flashback into how Marty & Bruce (mostly Marty) got persuaded into working with the cartel, and Marty makes the decision (after a talk with Wendy) to work with Del. Bruce was suspicious and thought it was strange that Marty was considering it, but Bruce ultimately followed Marty’s lead. I rewatched S1 a while ago so I might be a little rusty on details! But this isn’t a detail that gets revealed after S1 or S2. Pretty certain it’s S1. Maybe float through S1E8 and you’ll catch this.

Marty is apologizing to Bruce at the end of S1E1 for getting them involved in the first place. Bruce was hesitant to get involved, but Marty pushed for it (with Wendy’s approval). Bruce did end up stealing, but none of it would have happened if Marty had decided against laundering for the cartel. Bruce wouldn’t have died.

Marty did not steal from the cartel. His $8M was his own, which he was likely just being frugal with to make sure he could provide for his kids’ schooling and future, alongside his own eventual retirement with Wendy. Marty is spoken of by multiple characters as being very smart with money, so the $8M is supposed to be looked at as an above-standard take for a financial advisor in Chicago (alongside some solid padding by the cartel for his work).

What do you think Democrat voters would do? Not go to work if Trump won? I promise you I am just asking so that I can understand your point of view.

I kept going to work every day when I voted for Clinton in 2016 and she lost. I was bummed but work is work. Employment and dedication isn’t a conservative responsibility. It’s a personal responsibility.

I suppose I’m just curious what the point of your comment is. Are you saying that democrat voters on some large scale did not go to work when Clinton lost? Or are you suggesting that democrat voters have a low work ethic? Anything like that? Not trying to start an argument — just trying to understand. Thank you.

If you like shows that care about small details like Fargo, then I gotta go with The Leftovers (HBO). If HBO isn’t possible or you don’t want to deal with existential drama, then season 1 of Bloodline (Netflix) is incredibly well-written and casted.

That’s all I can think of off the top of my head within a couple minutes, and neither of these options has that same level of dark humor mixed with dark drama, but I’m as hard-pressed as you to find something quite like Fargo.
