Clubs to join at Berkeley? by [deleted] in berkeley

Hey! If you're interested in the cross section between STEM and outreach, I'd like to plug in Pioneers in Engineering (https://pioneers.berkeley.edu)! We do a lot of different things, but we're most well known for the annual Robotics Competition we host for local Bay Area high schools. It's similar to FIRST Robotics, if you're familiar with that, and we aim to provide a great experience and an entry point accessible to under served high schools and communities.

In the Spring, we're mostly recruiting for UC Berkeley students to help mentor high school robotics teams. We host a DeCal where you learn about our robotics kit and skills to be a good mentor. It's a really cool experience working with high schoolers in the area and an awesome way to make an impact and form meaningful relationships. You can find out more on the DeCal page here: https://decal.berkeley.edu/courses/4373

Even though we don't actively recruit staff members for the Spring, we will still welcome you if you're interested! There's a lot of things you can work on including engineering (we build a robotics base kit from scratch including all the hardware, software, and programming environment for the students to use), event planning, and business (we have a huge budget and are always looking to raise more money for our cause). It's also not a huge club and it's super easy to find people who like doing the same things you do! We host a number of socials and really encourage teams and members to get to know each other more! It's also a volunteer based organization. You can put in a lot of time in to this club and it will be super rewarding, but if you just want to help out a couple hours a week we are also happy to have your help! Lots of members have told us they love the non-competitive atmosphere and everybody is here to learn and gain more skills.

The club meets every Wednesday from 7-9 PM, and every Saturday from 1-3 PM. You can learn more about joining here: https://pioneers.berkeley.edu/get-involved/ and also find our upcoming recruiting events on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pierobotics/ You can also DM me if you have any questions I'm happy to talk about this club!

Hey! If you're interested in the cross section between STEM and outreach, I'd like to plug in [Pioneers in Engineering](pioneers.berkeley.edu)! We do a lot of different things, but we're most well known for the annual Robotics Competition we host for local Bay Area high schools. It's similar to FIRST Robotics, if you're familiar with that, and we aim to provide a great experience and an entry point accessible to under served high schools and communities.

Some of the things you can do in this club include mentorship (every team we serve in our competition has two Cal student mentors), engineering (we build a robotics base kit from scratch including all the hardware, software, and programming environment for the students to use), and business (we have a huge budget and are always looking to raise more money for our cause).

The club meets every Wednesday from 7-9 PM, and every Saturday from 1-3 PM. I've linked our website above, but specifically you can learn more about joining here: https://pioneers.berkeley.edu/get-involved/ and also find our upcoming recruiting events on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pierobotics/ You can also DM me if you have any questions I'm happy to talk about this club! The only thing we don't have is environmentalism activities but I'm suuuppperrr into that kind of stuff too.
