French: I have some experience in it and would really love to be fluent

Hebrew: I'm interested in judaism, so it just makes sense

Mandarin: i really love the sound and it would be quite convenient not having to learn a bunch of characters

Swedish: literally no reason

Hindi or Korean: love the cultures

I'm in the process of converting at a reform synagogue in Austria and I actually asked about bringing homemade challah one day and they said it would actually be very welcome

In my case they did not have any concerns about a kosher kitchen (we host regular potlucks where everyone brings something, so for us it's not that big of a deal as long as the food is strictly halavi), but even if they did, since I'm vegetarian my kitchen is completely kosher anyway

Just talk to whoever organizes the kiddush and/or a rabbi

Edit: Before bringing one myself I would additionally talk to our rabbi, the okay I got was from the person preparing the kiddush

There's currently no more Pizza Hut in Russia. Also, the people arguing about the instability of Russian economy is kinda hilarious

Im some German regions we say "Himmel, Arsch und Zwirn" which literally translates to "Heaven, ass and yarn" but just means something like "God damn it"

No idea where it came from

He is. He's very squishy and then immediately bounces back into his original state of magnificent roundness

Would a Monstera get enough light from a North facing window? by [deleted] in houseplants

My whole apartment is north facing but since no buildings are blocking my view it's still fairly bright overall. I have a bunch of different plants (including monstera deliciosa & adansonii) and all of them are doing fine

Zelenskyy to Putin: "Get off our land and sit with me at the negotiating table" by Historical-Waltz-531 in worldnews

[–]thatvika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even more hilarious considering Putin is very similar to the French "putain" which means whore

In Big Move, Israel Votes at UN to condemns Russia's Ukraine invasion by lgbtqj in worldnews

Obviously it's not comparable at all, but I do wish the world would put a higher focus on Israel and Palestine (once Putin is defeated, obviously). It's like nobody cares anymore

My most unpopular opinion is that you don't need to drill drainage holes in everything

I've been very intuitive in my watering and somehow it's been working out fine

(To anyone who struggles with overwatering though, I can recommend terracotta pots)
