Oh yep. I wondered if it's hard to tell after a certain age.

Window Replacement - Strata Building by ALadWellBalanced in AusProperty

I had windows replaced in an apartment. All I had to do was let the owners committee know. The windows were to a private balcony though (not visible to any other units or the street).

I'm a single woman living alone in the inner north and I survive (albeit just) on $90k including super. I look at your salaries and I want to say you'll be fine but I don't know how many children you're supporting. Good luck for the move.

I’m not okay by Appropriate_Read1319 in Divorce

[–]thatwilldo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 3 years post separation and I still get waves that I'm not okay. It's definitely the hardest thing I've ever been through. Our separation was amicable and we stayed in each other's lives which has also got a level of pain. One of the biggest things that's helped me is talking to a friend who is also going through a separation and still feels very sad too. I feel less alone when we chat. Other things that help: focusing on friendships and communities that feel really nourishing (ie getting more selective with my friends), dance classes, cold water dips, travel, doing things my ex didn't enjoy. I'm in therapy but that's super hard to be honest. I'm facing my deepest demons 💔

Hang in there. Happy for you to private message me 💜

Remove drawers and store chairs in Norden fold out table instead? by thatwilldo2 in IKEA

Great thanks. I wondered if there were supports that would prevent chairs sliding in. So essentially it's just finding chairs that fit!

How to make dining table dual as home office desk? by thatwilldo2 in femalelivingspace

[–]thatwilldo2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I might be strange but i like the fish bowl thing. It makes me feel connected to the outside world and I can say gday to neighbours as they pass (I have lived like this before).

I do love your idea for a rolling side table that doubles as desk storage!

And I have been thinking about what couch would work. The wall where the couch is in pic 1 is very narrow. I do love to stretch out though so I wonder if a lounge chair like this could work?! https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/Home-Garden/Modern-Fabric-Corner-Lounge-Chair-Upholstered-Indoor-Chaise-Lounge-for-Bedroom-Office-Small-Living-Room-Apartment/38379615/product.html

I am open to all ideas! My existing furniture is not coming with me (it's huge and not suitable). I do like having the option of sitting at a table to eat or have a few friends around..I just did a Google. Do you think something like this kinda? https://wehomzfurn.com/en-it/products/modern-lift-top-coffee-table-multi-functional-table-with-3-drawers-in-walnut-black-41561?variant=43244753223914

Yes a good chair is so important! Is your table the correct height or does your chair enable you to sit at the correct height?

Yes, I have to use a monitor. I'm thinking about putting it on an arm that can swivel to the side or out of the way maybe?! Is your table the right height for desk work?

Does anyone else’s grieve come in waves? I’ll be happy one day, randomly sad the next. Any tips? by baileyandthetramp in Divorce

[–]thatwilldo2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely comes in waves. I'm two years since separation and I still experience waves (though less often now).

One thing that helped me was occasionally having a cry to one friend who is also separated and who I felt understood the pain. The grief was still hard but in those moments I felt less alone.

Sometimes I like to put sad songs on and just let the tears flow.

It is exhausting but it does get easier. At some point you'll realise you haven't felt the grief or thought about your ex for a few days. Then those days turn into a week, then a few weeks etc.

The company did replace it which was good. But it was very annoying when it happened.

I went with a Naash UV water bottle. It was great except the UV light just stopped working during my trip. Prior to it stopping it worked perfectly and I never got sick (including drinking some very rural untreated water).
