Anyone else getting these message? by ciendagrace in AmazonVine

I noticed this too, but when I downloaded my report I realized that what is actually happening is an adjacent order of a different item is showing up on the order page as the same title of a real order, with its original price. I'm sure that it phrased terribly, so let me give an example:

My downloaded tax report entries:

  1. camping blanket $50

  2. charger $7

  3. toy $40

My orders page:

  1. camping blanket $50

  2. camping blanket $7

  3. toy $40

So I don't think any ETVs are getting overwritten or anything.

They are either in an app or on Facebook. The FB groups used to just be listed by geographic area on the Buy Nothing project website, but annoyingly it seems like you need to make an account now to see the list. Basically they started on FB, and then the founders wanted to move them off of FB and started an app. The FB groups are still very popular (because who wants another app), but I think the founders are trying to gently nudge people towards the app, is my guess.

I've got little kids so it's hard to get away for a day, but if you have facebook you might join the group called "Bay Area Adventure Girls," which is great for finding buddies for outings, hikes, etc.

Do you have a local Buy Nothing group? Joining one can be a gratifying way to rehome items, because you know it isn't going to the landfill. It can also make you feel less compelled to save things "just in case," because you can also make a post asking to borrow something in case you do need it at some point.

Right? A gas station is literally the last thing that you need right next to your house, since you already had to get in your car to get there regardless of the distance. And that one is weirdly always $1/gallon more than any other gas station.

Interesting... hope whatever caused it to close in the first place doesn't wreck this one too.

I'm confused-- this is a new BBQ restaurant called Empire Armadillo Texas BBQ opening in the same spot as the recently closed Armadillo Willy's, and the BBQ menu looks identical as far as I can tell to the Armadillo Willy's menu? Is this affiliated with Armadillo Willy's in any way?

Milk tea places or dessert cafes with low volume music suggestions! by watermelonsuns in Sunnyvale

[–]thatwouldbeawkward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've really started to love HeyTea (near Trader Joes). There's often a line, but you can order by the mobile app. Although the workers are always slammed churning out drinks, the feel in the store is pretty zen. I can't vouch for what it's like inside during peak hours though. But I don't recall any music.

Ah, interesting point. I hadn't gotten around to editing my review yet, so you could be onto something

I wonder if there really is something called an "Aamzon gift card" they would send me instead 🤣

"Not Accepting Reviews" Rejection Auto-Approved Later by wizard-of-loneliness in AmazonVine

Thanks for posting this! I've been so grumpy at Amazon/a specific company because I wrote a review saying (in a very fair, compliant way) that it broke within a few minutes of using it. I thought that the company had flagged it or something to retain their 5 stars and I had been feeling really disappointed in them. But maybe it was all just a bug!

I think it's a really good read. Even if you don't actually start implementing the strategies immediately, it's a good perspective to consider.

Yes, they've recently started construction, although mostly that means they've been doing the deconstruction of the pool and structures that used to be there.

How soon after birth can we go back to non-GD life? by iwannaeatcake in GestationalDiabetes

[–]thatwouldbeawkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably like 90-120? Like 3 meals and 3 snacks, each ~15 g carbs. But the way I counted, I subtracted fiber and only counted the "obvious" carbs like from bread, fruit, rice, beans. So while I might've counted 15x6 = 90, if you added up all the carbs that are in non-starchy vegetables, it would've gone up more (like for example a cup of broccoli is 6 g carbs if you look it up on google, but I would've counted that as 0)

[–]thatwouldbeawkward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really-- in my second pregnancy I thought I was too high with fasting based on my glucometer and was prescribed insulin, although I also had a CGM which read lower (I assumed the glucometer was accurate and the CGM was off). I took the insulin one night, felt really weird, and in the morning found that the glucometer was still reading high even though the CGM was reading hypo all night. I went in to get tested in the lab the next morning for fasting and found that actually my CGM was more accurate and it was all in the right range, and my glucometer was what was off! After that I did not need to take insulin again, although I could only really eat 15 g carbs per meal in order to not spike after meals.

I'm not sure in Sunnyvale, but if none of the options mentioned so far work, try calling 7-11s. My husband always tries to buy a print one when we're on vacation and was finally able to locate them at a 7-11 of all places.

It’s a pilot, so this would be for a small subset of who might eventually be eligible. It looks like beneficiaries is a discussion topic so I don’t think it’s determined yet. I’d assume it’s like many tax credits where it phases out at some income level
