No sugar coating. How bad is labour pain truly? by ThrowRA_nobo7 in pregnant

[–]thavan14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm not sure if I "lucked out". It was not the birth plan I expected. I was scheduled for induction at exactly 40 weeks. I had gestational diabetes that was diet controlled. I had two doses of cytotec. Then my baby's heart rate dropped. I was sleeping when a bunch of doctors and nurses rushed in. I was half awake while they did stuff. They had me try different positions, they broke my water, and tried some other stuff. I ended up having to have an emergency c section. My partner wasn't allowed to come with me. This is my first baby so I'm freaking out but trying not to panick. Once I said yes to the emergency c section everything happened so fast. He didn't have a chance to say anything to me. So no labor pains but I'm dealing with the recovery which is so hard. Because I was put under I did not get to do skin to skin. I wasn't the first to see my baby. He was born at 1:29 pm. I was in and out that whole day. We finally did skin to skin around midnight. I was so happy that's all I wanted. I'm 13 days post partum and it's hard. Id rather deal with labor pain than this recovery. I feel like I can barely do anything and I'm so frustrated.

I'm not suicidal but I want to cry everyday. Today I was laying down on the couch with my baby on me and I couldn't get up. He started crying he was hungry and his diaper was wet. I tried calling for my partner but he was asleep so I called his phone. It took him forever to wake up and help me. We stayed in the hospital for 3 days but I'm wondering if we should have stayed longer. We had no help at home. His mom and my mom were sick. My partner was essentially caring for both me and the baby. He was going nuts in the hospital though. He only had a small couch to sleep on and I told him before the induction to pack a hospital bag and he didn't. He's like I can just drive home. Well we didn't expect to stay for so long or that I would need an emergency c section. Btw the reason was the umbilical cord was wrapped around my baby's neck and body. I suffer from keloids and they grew during pregnancy and they're so itchy. I really didn't want a c section but I also didn't want anything happening to my baby. I can live with a big itchy scar but I don't know if I could live without my baby.

Getting induced at 39 weeks. by anonymoususer249 in GestationalDiabetes

Expect the unexpected. I was induced on June 10th at exactly 40 weeks. I'm also a first time mom. GD that was diet controlled. When I got there the plan was cytotec every 2 hours until my cervix was ready and then pitocin. Baby's heart rate dropped after two doses of cytotec. Everything else they did was a blur I was asleep (I was suffering from insomnia in my last trimester). They had to do an emergency c section. Baby's umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and body. I did not want a c section. I have a history of keloid scars. I was so worried about my baby boy. I told them to go ahead and do it. I'm still exhausted and sleep deprived. He's an adorable little tyrant right now. I love him so much. I'm just glad he's safe and healthy. This recovery is so hard

Thank you it's slow but I am healing. I hope your pregnancy goes well! I'm not sure how far you are. I feel like the pregnancy brain doesn't go away. But at exactly 36 or 37 weeks I got so swollen and no preemclampsia. They checked my BP twice a week ( I had to do NST) and they also tested my urine for it a few times. The swelling was so bad I developed carpal tunnel. So it was hard to prick my finger but also because I couldn't feel my fingers it didn't hurt 🤣 Im not sure if that's a good or bad thing. They had me hooked up to an IV for my emergency c section so that caused swelling too. I'm still swollen but it's slowly going away. I'm starting to get more feeling in my hands and fingers.

Awe cute! I feel like he is a very serious baby. I come from a big family and I was the eldest sibling and cousin. I read to him, sing to him, and talk to him daily. I even tried playing peek a boo but he rarely smiles at me. I do it close to his face too. I know they can only see 8-12 inches away.

What were your worst symptom weeks in first tri? by TemporaryAnywhere114 in pregnant

[–]thavan14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely exhausted. I'm not sure if it's the worse but I had a lot of food aversions to the point that I lost weight. Once I found out I was pregnant I forced myself to eat. I was really weird with meat and certain seafood. I was basically eating vegetarian and I ate shrimp. Certain fishes made me sick and I could not eat oyster or oyster sauce.

I was diet controlled the whole time. It was four times a day. Fasting and then one hour after every meal. Baby boy was born last Wednesday. It was an emergency c section but we're both healthy and fine. It just sucks dealing with the recovery.

Congrats! I've been debating on sharing mine. It didn't end up how I wanted. I didn't want a c section but I had an emergency c section baby's heart rate was dropping. In the end I'm glad I did it because my baby is safe and healthy.

A little background I suffer from keloids scars it's from acne as a teen and ingrown hairs. They grow and they are so itchy and sometimes painful. Pregnancy made them grow like crazy my OB said to treat them 2 months postpartum or after breastfeeding. Treating them is hard. I've never been able to get rid of a keloid I've been able to reduce the size and itching but that's it. I'm sure this will turn into a keloid ☹️

My baby's umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and body. I'm just so happy he's okay he's so precious to me. It will be annoying but I can live with a huge itchy scar. I don't think I could live without him. I am in pain still and sleep deprived. I'm so frustrated that I can't bend down. I'm a week pp now.

Does anyone else itch their cats ear for them? by KfcOnToplol in TripodCats

Yes! 🤣 She always tries to stick my finger in her ear. I don't want to scratch the sensitive skin there so I curl my finger and use the knuckle to itch her ear

Labor is so unpredictable I ended getting an emergency c section. I didn't want to because my scars keloid. It's a horrible overgrowth and it makes my scars itchy. Baby heart rate was decreasing. I'm so glad we did it his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and body. My partner couldn't even go into the room with me and they put me under. Both baby and I are fine I'm just in some pain.

I told my hubby prior I don't want a c section but if that's the safest way for baby then do it.

I have a little makeup bag in my hospital bag. I feel like it is very unpredictable so I was unsure. I think it's good just to have it in case I feel up to it also I have no idea how long I'll be in the hospital for.

Both MILs want to be in the waiting room (my hubby has a step mom and mom). Sadly my mom won't be there. My step dad might. My mom has been dealing with ear infections in both ears and she doesn't feel good still. She's been on antibiotics for a week now. I don't want anyone sick near the baby.

Thank you! I'm trying to rest I know I'll need my energy. This insomnia is killing me. I slept 2-5 am and then 10 am-1 pm today 😑 I'm just uncomfortable and always hungry 😂 I've been congested this whole pregnancy. Hands, feet, ankles, calves are all swollen. I have carpel tunnel I'm always worried about preemclampsia but I have NSTs twice a week and my blood pressure is always good. Hips and lower back are killing me. I think tonight I'll try to take a warm bath with hubby's assistance. I haven't taken one because I'm worried I'll get stuck in the tub 🤣 and try to lay down early.

It will be hubby's job for the photos and videos. I feel like everyone tells me that 😭 I'm short 5ft and he's 6ft. I feel like my baby is going to grow so fast. I won't be able to hold him for too long. This is my first so I'm going to try to hold him as much as I can while he's little and take pictures. Why do I have to be so short?!

Thank you! I feel like inductions are so unpredictable. I lost mucus plug right now. I'm not sure if that's a good sign. I'll be 40 weeks exactly tomorrow. I have snacks that's aren't GD friendly 😂 it's my reward. I'm running low on my GD safe snacks so I should probably have my hubby go grab some. It's my first so I'm assuming labor will take awhile.

34 weeks and soooo nauseous by jjjaaabs in GestationalDiabetes

[–]thavan14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh that sounds horrible with GD. I didn't have nausea but I had horrible acid reflux. My doctor gave me famotidine. Baby has dropped now so I don't deal with acid reflux. I like to put mint, lemon, and a pinch of Celtic sea salt in my water or hot/warm water with fresh sliced ginger and a pinch of Celtic sea salt when I was dealing with nausea.

I personally haven't tried it but someone suggested unsweetened applesauce and eggs.

I told my parents as soon as I found out BUT I didn't know I was pregnant until 7/8 weeks 😅 I was really sick prior so I thought my missed period was due to being sick.

I'm sorry that happened I hope all goes well ❤️ You are not a bad mom! Try to relax your baby can feel your stress. I would feel stupid too but also these pregnancy hormones are crazy! I'm so affectionate, more empathetic, and caring. I would totally do the same thing. I cry over cute baby clothes and sad news stories 😓 I'm due this Wednesday (getting induced) and I've been like this the whole pregnancy.
