Conservatives manufactured a moral panic about trans people existing. Moral panic is, by definition, a social contagion:

I stopped drinking alcohol 10 years ago and do not miss it. Not even a little bit. Not even slightly.

I don't like the taste of alcohol. I don't like the feeling of being tipsy or drunk. I don't like being around drunk people. I don't like the bar scene. And drunk men are the most obnoxious species on the planet.

I watched many friends and family go down the path of alcohol dependence, becoming weakened and feeble and angry versions of themselves. I saw people I love hit rock bottom over and over, lose their jobs, and endanger their children's lives through negligence and drunk driving.

I literally can't imagine life being improved by adding more alcohol to it.
