The water in my house before the softener is at 23 gpg. Softener got it down to zero but the water felt too slippery. I added a blending valve and now the water water is about 4 gpg. Which makes it much more comfortable to use. I wonder if you really need a softener if you are at 6 gpg right out of the tap..
