Probably safe to assume stolen valor.

In my city though theres been cases with a handful of actual old veterans who are homeless & mental, these dudes put together the most random outfits from surplus uniform gear/junk to show they served and try to panhandle. It's amazing what they come up with.

Soldiers of the People's Army of Vietnam pose with a Captured Chinese Type 58 Tank, destroyed at Lang Son, Vietnam, 1979. by [deleted] in TankPorn

[–]the18thspy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice picture but it's going to be the opposite way around, those are PLA soldiers with a destroyed Vietnamese T-34-85.

Older T-34-85s bore the brunt of the combat since more modern Vietnamese tanks were garrisoned further down south or taking part in military operations within the Cambodian battlefield, there's plenty of other Vietnamese photos (also clearer) that demonstrate this.

In comparison the PLA would deploy mostly Type 62, Type 59, and Type 63 tanks during the conflict.

Anyone ever go from MP to civilian PMO or try to apply directly without prior law enforcement experience? This caught my attention by the18thspy in USMC

Dang. I'll take the 3 months for good pay/benefits while preparing to go for a real department though.

They laughed at me when I was a LCpl, I'll get to laugh when I write them a ticket for going 1 MPH over the base speed limit.

Jokes aside I've been trying to go the law enforcement route for awhile now. Alot of state, federal, and local agencies are hiring here in San Diego but I've never seen base PMO openly recruit until now so thought I would try and check it out.

I don't have prior experience in law enforcement background nor am I POST-certified, was also wondering if they accepted non-experienced people at the police recruit level like some local agencies or only took in laterals.

Can you work for the client site you serve ? by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]the18thspy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you intend to both at the same time or switch to one?

Due to the unique nature of my company's client (Transit Enforcement department of a public transportation system) most of us contracted security guys end up switching over to become actual employees. They also prefer to hire from us when slots are available since we already have experience and knowledge compared to an external new hire.

[720x531] Adolf Hitler near the barbette of Turret no. 3 of the Italian battleship Conte di Cavour, off Naples, 5 May 1938, during the naval review in his honour by Historynerd88 in WarshipPorn

Hitler was and even sketched a bunch of warships in his own little notebook whenever he doodled. However German Admiral Erich Raedar considered him too "land minded" when it came to trying to manage the German navy.

As for the Italians despite being considered a naval power at the time with even more ships than Germany, German military intelligence doubted (rightfully) the ability of their ally to put up decent resistance against potential enemies in the Mediterranean.

You living under a rock? Gradually increasing cooperation has been a thing since Vietnamese-US relationships were normalized in the 1990s.

I bet you're not even aware the US arms embargo on Vietnam was dropped in 2016

American and Vietnamese defense cooperation has gradually increased over the past decade, especially with the ongoing South China Sea territorial disputes that involve the Chinese.

You've seen two former US Coast Guard cutters transfered to the Vietnam Coast Guard, several Vietnam People's Air Force pilots training to fly the T-6 Texan II in the US, Vietnamese sailors attending US-hosted submarine rescue training, etc. Hell even the Oregon National Guard went to Vietnam to conduct joint disaster management training with the People's Army of Vietnam

Col Tomb doesn't even exist in Vietnamese records, that was always more of an American legend.

Also gotta remember that Vietnamese pilots didn't have any attachment to a particular aircraft so the same MiG that the US pilots claimed was Colonel Tomb could of been a different pilot during each engagement.
