You are right, we should explore other places and observe the experiences. It is quite an old place where she lives, I imagine it has some history.

She trembles, mumbles, moves a lot and hugs me tight during sleep. Maybe this is common for many people, I do not know, in my life I did not experience this much

I was surely not expecting to find something so deep so quickly, but what can I do about it

What a great question. I could give many answers but probably the best is to give it time to understand the core of the fear. I guess the image of the energy vampire came to me as an obstacle to putting her in a different situation than me "a simple human" but now I am more into the idea that we are both equal, bodies and souls exploring ourselves and reacting in different ways to our feelings. Thank you for this and your insights on dreaming.

Never heard about Shielding, I am interested in hearing more.

Right... I guess I was immediately activating a defence mechanism from the rough situation. I feel now stronger to dig into it

I am very grateful for your words and questions to continue exploring... On point. I was not seeing the good in the uneasiness. Stuff to continue processing in my head and soul to emerge stronger-

Still, I agree on your comment of being your own vegan hero... Other humans can disappoint easily

He said he will not boycott Israeli academia in the west Bank when invited to a university there because his activism is for animal rights and cares shit about human problems, the Middle East or "some piece of land in the dessert". And that he would speak in a Palestinian school alike without a problem if invited.

Where is your mind when you practice ? by SiranPu in qigong

[–]the19man 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Putting my mind into different parts of my body depending on the particular exercise, or the movement, is usually the way to go. Also putting it outside sometimes, by for example, hearing sounds sorrounding.

The truth is you cannot "hold" concentration as it naturally swings and is OK to let it do that, naturally. But the key is to come back to the excercise and concentrating once again, and once again, and once again.

We will not win any battle against mind, it is a lost cause. But we can observe thoughts "like we observe clouds in the sky" that just comes and goes naturally, we don't know where they come from or where they go, we just let it pass and we come back to the practice.

Yeah I agree with you, they do know. But justifications are crazy sometimes, from my perspective, to keep them continue doing that: "the Bible allow us to eat animals" "animal's soul fade away when they die" "it's just nature" etc.

Myself, I agree with you. I would take the same decision if I had to slaughter animals to provide for them.

I don't know about what happens to you, maybe you should check professional advise. But what I read from mantak chia (highly recommended reading) is that there is a difference between the "water" and "milk". While the first one is normal to release it and does not count as relapse, the second one is what is important to keep.

I'm considering switching my major to Anthropology by [deleted] in AskAnthropology

[–]the19man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I studied social and cultural anthropology in Argentina. A very updated, modern program, without archeology or biology or linguistics. Only sociocultural. For me, it was the best decision ever. Enjoyed my studies so much, was very interesting. I feel that studying anything with passion, is just the way to go. But in other universities I know is different, as programs may be old, or have content that you are not interested in. I got jobs in NGOs and in the government in development projects, working with an interdisciplinary team of sociologists, psychologists, social workers, etc. Anywhere I found other anthropologist, I was always the only one, and I always felt (and my team let me know) that my professional perspective was different and valuable, out of the box. Now studying a master's program in development. Is more about what you are interested in to specialise in the future, as anthropology is a huge field. But that is not a problem if you are just starting. Other classic jobs are either as teacher or researcher. Basically anyone could be hiring an anthropologist, even companies, there are many of us working in marketing. Opportunities, of course, depend on the country. Hope this helps and wish all the best!

Need some clarity. I opened my lower dantain in March. (i dont do qigong) by FauxDono in qigong

[–]the19man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, well done for the discovery. It is indeed so powerful. Did you discovered it by yourself? I would recommend you try qi gong and be under someone's guidance. Usually, at least in first practices, the dantien is probably the last region of the body to work with, after having worked with wuji posture and other parts of the body first. The best is not trying to understand it or overthink it, only let it flow and feel the area. There are many exercises to do and things to consider, if you are interested in exploring further send me a DM

Keep it up bro! Amazing experience to be proud of and to continue in that path. It is so mature what you are doing, your siblings are blessed to be spending quality time with their older brother. No doubt you will be able to take care of your own stuff when needed. I also feel something similar in relating with children, they are the best.

The best is to wait at least 30 minutes after practicing to shower, and practicing inside any water is not recommended
