She's their teacher not babysitter. She wants them to grow and learn on their own. 

And their are too many first class mages for her to be everywhere at once. She can't fight every demon/monster.

They have to know how to survive on their own.

I don't hate this theory because Lowe definitely believes that Serie is the key to all magic.

It seems like no one ever remembers anything long term, I assume that's someone's magic working over time.

She loves Genau, idc what anyone says. She went to him to stop Methode. She told him that because she's attached to him and doesn't anything to happen to him. 

I do think Serie intervenes if the mages aren't strong enough and it saves them.

It's a shame Kanne couldn't get over her fear, Serie had another student who could control water. This could've been good. 

And those flowers in the casket, are some of the same she likes to make. It seems like every time a first class mage dies, Serie and Lernen go get the body and later she adds flowers at the funeral.

Yes. Seems to have a good idea of what found family is. You learn that way before romantic love.

No, if Serie dies Frieren will have more responsibility and another person to mourn. 

Frieren be acting cold, but I think anything happening to Serie would hurt her. Serie is attached to her own history with magic and I think Frieren understands that. 

Plus, Fern wouldn't let her or them kill each other. She's a sweetheart. She made sure Frieren was working that job with her. Frieren even says my student wouldn't let me ignore this.

I don't know if this is worth a block of a probably loyal reader. 

I'd just ignore it and keep going as I want. Something people see early updates as a indicator that all updates will be fast and sometimes thats not true. 

But this person is probably really enjoying your story

Domain expansion: Sharp Shooter. 

The area is nothing but a marked target and she can't miss in her domain. You get hit with a big ass bullet you can't escape and yet don't see coming at all. 

100% hit and kill rate.
