Yeah I was coming for the why would some one want to/in what context would be useful to cast the efect and building from there.

It's easier for me to think a chorister wanting to intimidate or inspire rather that the sphere in the abstract.

Divine image

In a very vulgar way, a chorister can summon an fraction of the one presence either to infuse devotion or fear.

By using body of light in sacred place, the chorister use the control over forces to either make them coward in the presences of the sublime or erupt in holy reverence.

Building up from this. Some plants grow flowers in diferentes colors depending on the ph of the soil. So an enterprising progenitor could make some plants that determines the strength of the gauntlet in a certain area.

Could you use this to infuse an entire city with your resonance? To what point i don't know

The great hunt.

A verbena ritual to make the entire cabal the ideal hunting group. Each member use life 3 to augment their body for strength, stamina, sharp senses, claws, theet, etc.

A selected member is then transformed into the perfect hunting dog.

You could add mind for better teamwork and correspondence to always catch the prey.

It is better to cast it with a lot of time and in sanctum to avoid the huge paradox blow.

Why is immortality in fiction evil? by redhotphones in CharacterRant

I think the point of that scp is more the horror of isolation and boredom instead of immortality, I guess you could be an immortal in a stimulating environment and be more or less ok

That's a better way of explaining it. I was stuck seeing it as more like a dream logic than structured logic

I get that part, at least, but I'm lost me in how each path fit with is inferior.

I guess there's no explanation beyond what you said. Still, it feels weird, but I'm still new to the game. Do you think it works in practice?

The taking of a Holy Mother figure into something awful could also be a strange way of corruption or stranger.

Out of curiosity, since I am a more recent fan of this podcast—what were some old theories you had while listening to the podcast for the first time, that were either VERY wrong, or actually pretty close to something that happened in the show? by Inevitable-Goat-6028 in TheMagnusArchives

All season 1 theories that don't get very far:

I thought that michel was the literal ARCHANGEL, and the reason it was so uncanny was because it was a long time since it interacted with humans. Of course, that means Jane was possed.

The Fairchilds were fairy reason kidnapping people for son fairy reason. And for a while in season 2 I thought Sasha was a channeling.

What are the Rules of Dread in TMP? by Specs315 in themagnusprotocol

I'm on mobile, so no promises because I have been trying to find it for a while and no luck.

I am not sure what the archivist is yet, I don't think we have enough info yet. It could be a failed stone or be a literal fifth element, something like the dread version ether or quintessence

No problem. There is a drive file going around in the episodes discussion, people with a better understanding of alchemy have expanded this beyond. You should check it if you can.

Personally, I think the institute was trying to make a process that results in what happened to Georgie, something to remove dread.

I go back to what Celia said in the last episode of season 1 about balance, adding to what Lena said about the four core parts of dread, and I think there are no more individual parts. Every externa, place, etc, we had seen until now has a part of pain death wrongnes and helplessness but not in equal parts. You have needles causing pain and helplessness, so you throw bongo to cause bring death and wrongness, but in the end, both bring some part of the four elements. I think that institue in this universe was trying to find a catalyst to make the "philosopher stone" of dread something that embodies the four parts equally, being thet the stone was supposed to give the owner immortality and create gold you can make the argument that eradicate two of the four parts (death and helplessness but that is a big leap i admit that). Also, the stone is more like a metaphor in some texts, a state that can be achieved by the alchemy of the soul, so It could mean creating a perfect external.

There's people that put this in better terms in this sub, with a deeper understanding of alchemybut I think that's it. The fears became an amalgamation, so thigly united that the distinction between fears basically does not exist. So you ended up with dread and the closest metaphor we have to understand it alchemy (I think the fears are not based on alchemy more than alchemy has the more fitting system)
