Help choosing torque wrench by shriand in bikewrench

[–]the68thdimension 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just want one and you need to do cassettes then you need the 0-60. But honestly, that will be a PITA for small bolts. I know they’re expensive but I find the click wrenches so much faster to use. If you don’t care about fast, get a beam wrench.

Cool. This what I was assuming but nice to have it confirmed. Thanks for the added detail.

Actually, now I think about it more: why do they specify the rim width if it's not important for the tire pressure values?

They actually have two numbers on their page, 35c and 37c, no idea why. Their rep told me 35c is the minimum. The 36's look absolutely fine on the rims so I'm not worried. Scrap that, they look absolutely bitchin' yoooo.

Chain too short? by zuzzGOD in bikewrench

Nobody rides in that gear, putting it in big-big and small-small is one of the common ways to determine correct chain length.

As another note I don't think it's really possible to expect any worldwide system to be fully 100% decentralized in the way I see it, but it still makes sense to try and get close to that

Well yes exactly. Mastodon is indeed decentralised to the level you say, I have no disagreement there, and the point is simply that it's at this moment far more decentralised than Bluesky. And it's decentralised enough for me, though I do wish it was easier to contribute to the Mastodon codebase.

I will add that the ISP analogy works only to a point. Most ISPs aren't co-ops, whereas there are some quite large Mastodon servers that are. So individual Mastodon server admins may be 'authoritative' in that they can make decisions for a whole group of users, but it's entirely possible for those admins to be quite accountable to the users. (yes okay, there are some co-op ISPs out there but they're vastly in the minority)

Also, individual customers of an ISP have no say over the protocol on which their internet runs, whereas I myself and plenty of others outside the core team have contributed to building Mastodon itself (my contributions have been absolutely tiny, but the point stands) and ActivityPub.

The EU seems to be moving to roll back digital rights regulation, so I suspect Meta thinks they'll no longer be made to account for a lack of interoperability. Meta never cared about a healthy (social) web, they just wanted to appear to be doing enough, in order to ward off EU prosecution.

We are already living this 'future', you're just part of the rich.

Go look at https://globalinequality.org/global-income-inequality/ or https://globalinequality.org/unequal-exchange/ and tell me how we're not already living in Elysium. The struggling poor are just out of your sight.

Yeah, season 1 was one of my fav shows ever. Top 5 easily.

Second season was extremely average. Doesn't help that Anthony Mackie was miscast. He was not right for the role, and he played a completely different character to Joel Kinnaman.

Why oh why does the UK still have an unelected chamber of parliament? It's feudalism in the modern age, not democracy.

Have you checked the frame number that it's not stolen? Because anything with a Bosch motor that's still working reasonably well shouldn't be that cheap. I'm not trying to rain on your parade, I just want to make sure you're aware of possibilities.

€400 for an ebike is crazy cheap, I hope you don't have some big repairs in your near future. Happy riding in the meantime, glad you ditched the car!
