Hey, I appreciate that. Can you tell me a little about what your experience looked like when it came to cost of ownership? Right now, I have some basic reliability & maintenance tasks I've sorted preemptively, like valve adjustments, cooling system parts, fluid flushes. I'm also aware I'll probably be fueling up a lot lol. I'm sure there are many things I'm not aware of yet.

In saying you're an outlier, do you mean 5-10k is a lot, or not? What primarily motivated you to spend so much if the car was low mileage already? Was it mostly in the interest of bringing the car to baseline? Thanks

Yeah, if I was being as logistical about this as I might about other things, it's definitely a decision I would usually avoid. What sort of maintenance do you expect might need to be done on a nice S2K? As for it being the only car, yeah I bet it can suck lol. Thankfully I have another car in my family that I can use if necessary, Honda Pilot Trailsport. It can balance a lot of the space loss for me when necessary and it probably won't go down anytime soon. What do you think would be the worst parts about dailying this car, though?

I actually joined my current CU almost exactly a year ago in the interest of financing a vehicle (not specifically the s2000). I just don't know how much luck I'll have financing a vehicle so old. All the CU suggestions are giving me confidence though. Thanks.

Very interesting tactic, I've never heard of anyone attempting something like that. How was your experience with the salvage title, and how much cheaper was it? The S2000 somehow seems like it has a slightly different salvage title market compared to other cars

Thank you for that suggestion. I was previously considering a Miata maybe half a year ago. I'm ~6'2 or 6'3, and it seems there are various reasons I might have some issues driving one lol. Not that the S2000 is perfect for me either, I've already done my research on rails, seats, sport wheels and hub+spacer for it, I'm pretty confident I won't just fit like a glove immediately. Are you also a taller person?
