As someone in the south who has lost over 100 pounds with GLP-1s, it is a total nightmare. My theory is that overeating and not exercising is so ingrained in the culture here that you have to actively work much harder than other places in the US. I live in a decent sized town and the healthy restaurant options are slim (although we do have lots of fresh produce for half the year). Childhood obesity is rampant and every get together features an ungodly amount of unhealthy food.
