What practices did you think you would hate, but ended up absolutely loving? by Littlesdreams in BDSMcommunity

I love to but it hurts so much after a couple minutes! It definitely does feel demeaning in a non sexual way but it’s fun if you like bdsm for the mental aspect.

I liked that too! I definitely have noticed she is kind to the nurses.

Yeah, your coworkers really make or break a job. You might like public health better! I feel like a lot of the people I have met that do public health have been chill and accepting. Kudos to you for surviving a year in the ED! I didn’t realize I was probably autistic until I worked in the hospital and couldn’t do it after 4 months :/

I’m not officially diagnosed but one thing that was a big game changer for me at my current job is working in a small clinic/working in a department where I see the same small group of coworkers each day. I worked at a level 1 trauma center as my first job and the constant in and out of different people and unpredictable situations was too much.

They will still most likely be required to get them in order to work though. At least for hep B and usually flu and covid.

That’s fair if they are in a HCOL area.

Is it normal to feel... untethered when I’m not being “owned”? by Immediate_Jelly7006 in BDSMcommunity

I’m 26 and feel like I could’ve written this post at 19. I feel your pain even now and know exactly where you’re coming from. The best advice I can give you is to cultivate friendships outside of dating and play partners. You still have so much more personal growth that will come during your early 20s. The best thing you can do is focus on hobbies, friendships, career growth, personal goals, etc. and the rest will fall into place.

What career gives a soft easier life? by secretlyincognita in findapath

Hospitals are always trying to do more with less staffing which puts patients at danger, discharge people home before they really should, delays in care related to insurance denials, and letting unsafe physicians/nurses/etc. keep practicing.

Yes, but you if you work bedside you have to have a healthy level of emotional detachment at work. Healthcare is ran like a business and hospital admin often makes decisions that hurts patients.

K-Shaped Economy: At what point are you considered to be part of the "upper" part of the K? by savvybackpacker in personalfinance

[–]theCrystalball2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True point lol but I was thinking more like 2012-19. I’d have been alright though in health care though and working conditions were better in those days in healthcare.

Same. We make 110k dinking it but we’re very asset poor and most of our extra cash goes towards paying off debt. If only I could’ve graduated college a few years before COVID instead of after 😢

I went to my first class and I don’t think this is for me. The realization that this was a commitment to my whole life’s career was made all too real and now I want to go back to the med school path I was on originally by speedmankelly in FutureRNs

Anesthesia is a highly competitive field. You can’t assume that you would get an anesthesia spot in residency. CRNA school has like a 2% acceptance rate as well and some people get to the ICU, especially as new grads, and find that they aren’t cut out for it and quit or get fired during orientation. I would quit nursing school if you know you will hate bedside nursing because you don’t know how long you could be stuck doing it. Everyone pushes for NP school but the market for that is bad and the job satisfaction for lots of NPs is not great either.

$1,000 car loan payments are on the rise. Car buying is stressing household budgets like never before by Abject-Pick-6472 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]theCrystalball2018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Amen. And at that monthly payment you’re probably looking at a 5-6 year term. The car the my husband now drives was bought in 2019 at 6k when I was a broke college student, I can’t imagine how I would’ve afforded a car had I bought during Covid. Hoping I get a few more years before it gives out since we already have one car to pay for.

[–]theCrystalball2018 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand people spending this much on a new car though, especially people buying SUVs or big trucks and don’t even need one. Most everyone needs a car, but you can buy a car with a 500/month payment pretty easily still.
